[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101724] FORMATTING: Named colour styles
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101724 Heiko Tietze changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED CC||tietze.he...@gmail.com Resolution|--- |DUPLICATE --- Comment #2 from Heiko Tietze --- The handling of user colors is being overhauled completely. You will have the opportunity to add colors to a special user palette and the access to palettes is possible from all pickers. That makes the Tools>Options>Colors setting obsolete. Much more improvements have been done, including the proper function of the recent colors. Not all features are committed yet but you may try a nightly build [1] to get an impression. If you talk about styles you may have something in mind like document themes (bug 90497, will make this one a duplicate). That's work in progress, unfortunately with no schedule when it will be finished, as far as I know. It appears, that postgres does not support a column alias directly after the column name without the keyword AS in between. LibreOffice seems to create exactly that syntax (SELECT columnname columnalias FROM tablename). The error only occurs when executing an SQL query or the query designer. Unlike with JDBC-driver the SDBC-driver seems to pass the query through to the DBMS unchanged, if executing a SQL-pass-thru query. I have already checked with Adobe, I do not know what they will do. I knew the permissions had been somehow changed, but didn't know the cause. I spent some time puzzling it out but eventually found that it was the LibreOffice Installer. I have no idea why the installer is doing this but I know for an absolute certainty that it is. As my final test, I had regedit open and could see the permissions on photoshop.exe (everyone had full permissions), I then installed LibraOffice 5.1.4.2 and immediately checked the photoshop.exe permissions. They had changed (everyone only had read permission)! The only 3rd party software running at the time the permissions were changed was LibreOffice. I repeated this test on another Windows 7 Pro system and the exact same thing happened. It is a repeatable bug across different makes of Window 7 Pro PCs from various users. This has happened on over four Windows 7 Pro PCs so far. The original owner of the photoshop.exe key is System when this change occurs. Once the photoshop.exe key owner is changed to Administrators, the change does not occur. The change does not occur on Windows 10 Pro PCs at all. >From my point of view, this bug has not been resolved and is still active. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

If you mark the whole table and use Table > > AutoFormat Styles and then button Add, you get all the cell styles. The > size 4x4 is only a minimum, you can use larger prototypes as well. Seems the build i was using from the 16th didnt update the table style correctly (Styles & Formatting sidebar, table styles tab, update style). For to be a style a table template would need a > style:name attribute, but it has a table:name attribute. And it would need > to be child of a element. But that is not the case. I don't know how Photoshop works, but looking at entries for different software (firefox.exe for example) shows that no permissions have to be added for Everyone at all, let alone Full Control. Also, I can hardly imagine LibreOffice installer being able to change permissions, maybe it has to do with the system. Either way, since Adobe knows why they need that specific permission, I suggest checking with them if and how other installers could interfere with it. If they have specific change requests that don't interfere with normal usage, those could be considered (or they are welcome to contribute the changes themselves). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101706 Vik-T changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #2 from Vik-T --- Hi Robert, Thanks for replying. Based on your comment, I first tried removing the ID control altogether. This allowed me to enter new records without error. I was looking hard to find the "input required" setting you mentioned and just couldn't. In the meantime, it's clear to me. You have two ways of binding controls to the data: either you create a control first and bind it through the properties, or you add a field using the "Add field" dialog which creates a multiselection (i.e. grouped) control bound to the field. In the latter case, it's not possible to change, or even see data properties such as "input required" which, I assume, is set to "yes" by standard. Only after further research, I found out that it is possible to select single objects of a multiselection group by having pressed when selecting it with the mouse. Now you can change its properties. So, it's not a bug. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101696] EDITING: Auto-conversion for dates needs disable option for scientific work
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101696 --- Comment #5 from Eike Rathke --- First, LibreOffice Calc does *not* convert MARCH1 or SEPT2 to date, contrary to what is said in the original report http://genomebiology.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13059-016-1044-7 It (and OpenOffice.org and ...) *did* convert MARCH1 to date (but not SEPT2, it could had happened with SEP2 though), but that was fixed for bug 41166 already with release 4.2.5 So whatever version they used to test things for a report published on 2016-08-23, it was too old, and the statement cited as "To date, there is no way to permanently deactivate automatic conversion to dates in MS Excel and other spreadsheet software such as LibreOffice Calc or Apache OpenOffice Calc." simply is wrong in this context. Second, of course 2310009E13 is a number, but not 2.31E+13 as given in the report but 2.310009E+019 instead. Do not trust a scientific publication ;-) This number recognition is *expected* from a spreadsheet application, yes even when pasting some copied data. If all data is to be treated as literal text then doing one of these helps, as already mentioned in earlier comments: * applying the Text number format to all target cells before pasting * pasting as unformatted text instead of HTML (or whatever the source format was) and in the text import dialog select Text as column type * using a common proper data format for tabular text exchange: CSV or TSV, and again select columns to be Text in the import dialog I don't think a "treat all pasted input as text" configuration option would help anything because those scientists wouldn't know that either. The only thing that could help is detecting a conversion to number or date in between runs of mere text strings within one column and then nag the user about it. But such nag boxes quickly get annoying until ignored. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[18:41] There just aren't resources for that, and if this VCL thing works, I can limp along for a few months. [18:47] dave_largo: And the backtrace actually looks fishy - Application::Yield () calls ImplYield (i_bWait=false… - that shouldn't be possible [18:48] jmux: What happens is that after the font changes, the UI is running at 5% speed, appears deadlocked to users. And it seems to only happen if fonts are in the style that do not exist locally [18:50] dave_largo: and I guess the process itself uses 100% CPU. From the backtrace I would even guess you have a memory corruption. [18:51] The only thing Application::Yield () does is call ImplYield(true, false, 0); [18:51] Now your backtrace says #13 0x7fd1f31a9455 in ImplYield (i_bWait=false, [18:52] #14 0x7fd1f31a5356 in Application::Yield () [18:53] That's quite probably not fixable in LO, especially if you already know a newer SuSE version (it doesn't need to be Gtk+) works correct. ... [19:13] dave_largo: BTW - which LO version are you using? [19:15] jmux: Most are on 5.2, a few on 5.3. This bug is in 5.0, 5.1. 5.2 and 5.3. In 4.3 it works fine. So the code on master AKA 5.3 for Application:Yield is void Application::Yield() { ImplYield(true, false, 0); } but the backtrace is #13 0x7fd1f31a9455 in ImplYield (i_bWait=false,… #14 0x7fd1f31a5356 in Application::Yield () Looks like a memory corruption.
