Document background vs page background in 5.4 and 7.2alpha

Also the opposite setting works now correctly: If you set a non-white document
background in Options and a white background in the page settings, then the
page background has not covered the margins (unlike in Word).
This changed with bug #112195.

Thank You for promptly acting on this.

I had a file in which this was happening but I just made it working (albeit not
sure that I have done as I have not merged/split any cell).

I will keep an eye if it happens again in this or another file and send
immediately.

On a side note, this not the case here but in general, why is it not possible
to sort merged cells with formats?

Thank You.

Screenshot of the example file and another example in current Writer

In current master this works with a new document:

Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: cb084f475db33a2cfc62bc9c8de37b8c3c87b3c7
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: hu-HU (hu_HU); UI: en-US
Calc: CL

Also the example file has color (white) background set in the page properties.
Unsetting that to "None" background restores the desired effect.

Speed should be better in 6.4 branch. And is indeed related to they background
image. It's kind of MacOS.. and well support isn't great.. lack of

I have no idea. I just follow previous design. All icon themes except Karasa
Jaga (Breeze, Colibre, elementary, Sifr and Sukapura) use the same design "$0".
Looking at MS Excel it uses general 123 which I think more acceptable. IIRC
Breeze is the first theme that introduced "$0" (CMIIW Andreas Kainz).

Galaxy use "$%" same with Karasa Jaga (I have tried to make KJ to be similar as
Galaxy as possible) with difference that Galaxy use backward arrow below.

You can see my attachment for complete comparison.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138522] New: AUFILTER ERRATIC SORTING

2020-11-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138522

Bug ID: 138522
   Summary: AUFILTER ERRATIC SORTING
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.3.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: commenta...@riseup.net

Description:
When applying an AUTOFILTER, sometimes it does not allow sorting with a warning
saying "Ranges containing merged cells can only be sorted without formats" even
when no merged cell is present in the range.
Sorting manually via the STANDARD FILTER works on the very same range.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Apply the AUTOFILTER to a range of cells.
2. Select "Sort Ascending" or "Sort Descending"

Actual Results:
A pop up message may appear forbidding the sorting, saying that some cells are
merged and have formates, hence they can't be sorted.

Expected Results:
As no merged cells are present in the range, it should sort as the STANDARD
FILTER does.

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Version: 7.0.3.1

CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.9; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.utf8); UI: en-GB
7.0.3-2
Calc: threaded

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116211] LO Send by email fails in Writer / Calc / Impress

2020-11-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116211

Hopefully not confusing things by adding this information... I use LibreOffice
"E-mail as PDF" a lot. After about a fortnight of not having used it, when it
worked fine, today I tried again.

Linux Mint 19.3 MATE; Thunderbird 68.10.0; LibreOffice 6.0.7.3.
LO Tools|Options|Internet|E-mail program field is blank (and has always been
like that).

The Thunderbird compose window opened, but there was no attachment. No
improvement after closing/restarting LO, Thunderbird or restarting Mint.

kern.log has:

Nov 27 14:51:03 bob-mint kernel: [ 1934.824706] audit: type=1400

LO has no problem exporting the PDF and Thunderbird can manually attach it.

Caja 1.22.2 right-click Send to...E-mail works as expected.

If I run "libreoffice --writer" from the terminal there are no error messages
there when doing the E-mail as PDF, but again no attachment appears.

The only thing I was brave enough to change, as the log mentioned it, was to
change the permission of:
/home/bob/.config/libreoffice/4/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages.pmap
to 777. Made no difference.

Not sure what it all means!

Bug finding is the best technique for making your non-running code into the
running form. The code we write in https://aussiessayreviews.com/ is only
runnable when you will be able to find the bug. Bug removing is the most
important work which you can do.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138520] Toolbars and page too small with Wayland fractional scaling and Qt5 plugin

Created attachment 167605

Screenshot that shows the problem in normal (non-dialog) widgets

It appears from this screenshot that UI components that are drawn directly with
QWidgets are scaled correctly, while ones drawn QPainter are not. However, this
is only a shakey guess because I don't know anything about the code and am only
going off of the information in #130857 and #125943 with the assumption that
the drop-down menus are now drawn natively with QWidgets.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138520] New: Toolbars and page too small with Wayland fractional scaling and Qt5 plugin

2020-11-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138520

Bug ID: 138520
Summary: Toolbars and page too small with Wayland fractional
scaling and Qt5 plugin
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: matthewtresc...@gmail.com

Created attachment 167604
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=167604&action=edit
Screenshot showing the dialog widget size problem

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:
LibreOffice UI displays with UI components and text at approximately the same
size as other programs, to match the screen scaling configuration.

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR:
The top drop-down menu is scaled properly, while the other LibreOffice
components are displayed as though the screen were much larger and had a lower
pixel density. Also, dialog windows are the expected size, but their contents
are shrunken to the upper left-hand corner.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Select a fractional scaling factor (such as 1.25) in Plasma System Settings.
2. Log out/log back in, using Wayland.
3. Start LibreOffice

SCREENSHOTS:
I've attached a screenshot showing the scaling problem with the Options dialog.
The incorrect scaling of the main UI is less noticeable, so I'll attach another
screenshot after submitting this report. Note that the display is actually
1920x1080, even though the screenshot was scaled down.

VERSION INFORMATION:
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed
OpenGL Drivers: Mesa 20.2.2/Intel HD Graphics 620
Qt Version: 5.15.1
LibreOffice Version: 7.1.0-beta (official development RPMs) and 7.0.3.1
(openSUSE packages)

OTHER INFORMATION:
There are no relevant messages when running LibreOffice in the console. I have
tried different options such as "Force font DPI" (in Plasma System Settings)
without any effect. I'd be happy to provide any other information that might be
useful, such as the values of relevant environment variables, if needed.
Thanks!

Dear Mátyás Jani,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

The expected behavior should be that the pasted image keeps the style as in
Calc, i.e. consistent font size for western and Asian text, black text and
white background, right?

If I'm understanding that correctly, then I can reproduce with an old version
of master (2020-11-12, pre 7-1 branching), regardless of experimental feature
being on or off:
Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha1+ (x64)
Build ID: 693553210828538680408832157faad9654758c8
CPU threads: 2; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: zh-CN (zh_CN); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

For me, the pasted GDI format image always reverts to the default style, with
colored background and text, Chinese text smaller than English text for Heading
and Heading 1, etc. Exeperimental feature turned on or off give the same
result.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138519

Bug ID: 138519
Summary: Graphing, axes limits for small numbers
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: carlkr...@gmail.com

Reported on the Forum that when I tried to set axes limits for a log scale
below 1E-10, it defaulted to zero.

Contributor "Opaque" carried out detailed tests and showed that it was related
to Ubuntu 18.04 and LibreOffice, specifically the GTK3 Tookit.

Several months ago I had been successfully using V6.4 so it may be that a
Ubuntu update introduced the problem.

The details are here:

https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/278872/log-axes-in-calc/

Thanks,

Carl Ross

Hello,

There are a number of things which are modified in the process.

However, in the 'content.xml' file for the form, 'office:version="1.3"' gets
changed to 'office:version="1.2"' when modifying the form. Changing it back to
1.3 gets the form working again.

Don't know what the ultimate solution is but hope this is of some help.

I create a new Calc spreadsheet and looked at font properties in Header. I saw
Liberation Serif with 10pt. Are you sure that you have 12pt default Header
font?

Format > Text > Single Underline
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.7.2 release
  Hardware: All

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial

Just like bug 138000, after the change of uno:Underline to uno:UnderlineSingle
in

https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/431950e1eade91f8587d3ecffa73fd09136e16b6

tdf#121239 give writer, calc and draw/impress the same underline options

... the reminder of keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+U" disappeared along with the menu
icon, likely because Ctrl+U is assigned to uno:Underline, not
uno:UnderlineSingle.

Of course, the shortcut still works, it's just the reminder is not displayed on
menu anymore.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138518] New: Update Cross References builds wrong directories and missformats paragraphs

2020-11-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138518

Bug ID: 138518
Summary: Update Cross References builds wrong directories and
missformats paragraphs
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stefan_lange...@t-online.de

Description:
In a specific text document (more than one directory "Table of Contents", see
appended sample) the update of cross references results in wrong built
directories and missformatted paragraphs (divided where it should not be
divided). The problem exists in LOdev 7.1 beta and in LOdev 7.2 alpha, but not
in LO 7.0.3 and in LOdev 7.0.4 (builds until 2020-11-25).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open document "Test_paragraphs_divided.odt" from appended zip file
--> The document looks good as it was created with LOdev 7.0.4: It consists of
112 Pages. All directories contain the correct page numbers and no paragraaphs
(= chapters) are divided wrongly.
2. Update (= rebuild) all cross references e.g. by tab "References" -> "Cross
References" -> All
3. Update all cross references repeatedly

Actual Results:
After the first update of cross referenes the document consists of 118 pages,
because some chapters are divided wrongly (1.1.2.36, 1.1.2.46, 1.1.2,60,
1.1.2.61, 1.1.2.69, 1.1.3.12 and 2.11: divided and continued on the next page).
Both overview directories (built until level 1 resp. 3) contain some wrongly
built page numbers: "Übersicht" -> "Obektive" at page 78 (correct 77) and
"Fotoapparate - Übersicht" -> "Altix III" page 19 (corr. 18) and "Altix IIIA"
page 70 (corr. 69), see
"Test_paragraphs_divided_Update_CrossRef_All_x1_LOdev_7.2.0.pdf" in the zip
file

Expected Results:
The directories should not be changed, because the were correct already, and
the chapters should not be divided. So it is in LO resp. LOdev until 7.0.4

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
When the cross references are updated repeatedly, the result are different from
the result of the first update (2nd update: also 118 pages, but other wrong
page number, 3rd update: 116 pages and other wrong page numbers, 4th update:
119 pages and other wrong page numbers), see
"Test_paragraphs_divided_Update_CrossRef_All_x2_LOdev_7.2.0.pdf" etc. in the
zip file!

root cause: the workaround for

care whether their own program and config actually works, so one needs to add a

OK spent some time with HEXACORN dev Adam, their appid_calc.pl script needed a
tweak, but turns out we are not auto-generating the AUTOMATIC-DESTINATION-ms
appIDs. Instead for work on bug 35785 we are creating a custom AppIDs
(UserAppID) string for each module that are being recorded into the Windows
registry. Looking at bug 35785 these remain non-advertised, which if IUUC means
the MS Installer packaging must remove and recreate--clobbering the content in
the AutomaticDestination folder.

@Mike K., Fredric S, * -- would a change to "published" allow persistence in
the MSI upgrades?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138502] Spellchecker problems with multiple languages and custom languages

2020-11-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138502

Thank you, Mike Kaganski. I am on Linux with LO6 and did not know about that
system input language toggle. It sounds a much better suggestion than mine if
one is typing the document and not modifying an existing text. I assume that if
one uses >2 languages regularly one can cycle through them?

Conflation of styles and language seems odd, but I suppose I might be able to
use it in some contexts. Good to know, especially if style-nesting gets fixed.

To be honest, one of the biggest problems I have for non-English languages in
Latin script is diacritics. Sadly, Linux also doesn't seem to effectively
implement the ["compose" key](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compose_key) (the
settings exist, in many places, but don't seem to work). If I have to write a
text about three people called Xaudaró, Yī and Zaćiragić, I can add them to the
user-defined dictionary and autocorrect, but when the diacritics distinguish
meanings (say, I am writing about 尤 Yóu, 右 Yòu, and 幽 Yōu, and also using the
English word "you"), this does not work. And if I want to inflect my
diacritic-laden words with a variety of non-English inflections I'm out of
luck. Even toggling through languages might get a bit tedious here, assuming
the languages are in LibreOffice.

Is it possible to set a user-defined .aff file, for inflections on user-defined
dictionary words where neither word nor inflection is in the existing languages
supported by LibreOffice? I'm only really wanting to inflect a few terms, but
if I keep adding them as I go I might eventually have a full dictionary.
