[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34438] [feature request, FORMATTING] group selection does not work with raster images
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34438 --- Comment #50 from Telesto --- (In reply to Luke from comment #49) > Why is this listed as a "papercut"? From Regina's analysis in Comment 48, > the developer is going to have to be very careful to not break things worse > than they fix. For a student developer new the codebase, this sounds like a > standalone project itself. Me to blame for being on the list. Only did suggestions on the 'papercut' without understanding of the complexity. Actually full change of Writer image handling was not something I did foresee. Change of image handling is not done at GSOC if I'm reading this correctly: https://bayramcicek.com.tr/libreoffice-dev/2021/07/11/week-05-gsoc.html "developer is going to have to be very careful to not break things." Totally true. Sidenote: I personally prefer that changes are pushed into fresh master branch from nearly spin-off point. Which I call the Justin L strategy. As changing Writer image handling will certainly break things, kind of convinced of that. Some bugs will be very noticeable, if something goes wrong (especially if it affects page layout/wrap). So long testing/ repairing period would really helpful. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143305] New: SID collision in hrx files
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143305 Bug ID: 143305 Summary: SID collision in hrx files Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: hoss...@libreoffice.org There are some collisions in these files that should have been avoided: * include/sfx2/sfxsids.hrc * include/svx/svxids.hrc * include/editeng/editids.hrc For example, we see 'SID_SVX_START + 44' twice, which is not acceptable. These collisions can result in symptoms like tdf#143204 (Tabbed interface not working in Impress or Draw) which affects all the platforms (Windows, Linux, etc.). All these collisions should be resolved by changing the numbers added to SID_SVX_START in svxids.hrc. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143304] New: Much Difficulty in Naming a file when saving
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143304 Bug ID: 143304 Summary: Much Difficulty in Naming a file when saving Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.1.4.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: tangogolfsie...@gmail.com Description: macOS Catalina 10.15.7, MacBook Pro 13, Intel, LibreOffice 7.1.4.2 a529a4fab45b75fefc5b6226684193eb000654f6. When selecting File/Save or Save AS either from menu or icon on toolbar, several things different than the Windows edition. 1. the entire filename and extension are highlighted (selected), so that you cannot simply start typing the new file which of course, erases the "Untitled.odt (or .ods, etc). 2. Cannot paste over the "Untitled" with any file name. I end up saving the file as anything like, "H.odt", and then renaming. This method leaves the file out of the recent files list, since you have to rename it. Cannot paste into the saving filename dialog by keyboard or clicking the edit menu. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135254] FILEOPEN DOCX Grouped shapes have slightly different height/width
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135254 Regina Henschel changed: What|Removed |Added CC||rb.hensc...@t-online.de --- Comment #4 from Regina Henschel --- The corresponding attributes in ODF are style:rel-height and style:rel-width. LibreOffice has it implemented for a Frame. That has a UI to set it. It is written to file as direct attribute of the element. LibreOffice can interpret these attributes for some kind of shapes as attributes of the element of a style. It works for a TextBox. That is a element and from point of view of ODF not different to a Frame. It works too for legacy rectangle and oval and for polygons, but the shapes will be a little bit too large. LibreOffice has no UI to set it in these cases, but the attributes are available via API. LibreOffice cannot interpret these attributes for custom shapes. Therefore it fails with the example document. So a short-term solution could be, to import a shape as Frame in Writer, if it has a rectangular geometry, no shape rotation, no text rotation, and no special effects like shadow or glow. And long-term solution would be to implement these attributes for custom shapes too, correct the size, and bring the attributes to UI. A workaround could be to recalculate the shape size on import depending on the actual page size. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143302] New: Detect switches between dark and light GTK themes and automatically switch to the corresponding icon set when available
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143302 Bug ID: 143302 Summary: Detect switches between dark and light GTK themes and automatically switch to the corresponding icon set when available Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: nekoh...@gmail.com LibreOffice already has dark variants for two of its icon themes (Sifr and Breeze). I wish more of its icon themes (particularly Colibre and Sukapura) had dark variants, but this is not the issue today. What I'm reporting today is that when the GTK theme changes, LibreOffice should detect if it's the normal version of a theme or if it's a dark variant, and then, if it has a compatible icon theme (that has a light and dark variant), switch the icon theme accordingly, automatically. Otherwise, things typically are unrecognizeable in dark mode. This is particularly noticeable when you have systems where the OS (or a script, or an extension such as https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/2236/night-theme-switcher/). For what it's worth, Firefox does it and handles it beautifully, without needing user intervention or an app restart, when its theme is set to "system"; so it's possible, theoretically & technically speaking. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

This behaviour is described in the help documents of LibreOffice and works as expected in Calc: when editing text in cells, CTRL-TAB does cycle alternatives. However, Writer acts as if I only hit TAB: a tab stop is inserted. Other shortcuts involving the CTRL key works as expected: CTRL-O to open files, CTRL-S / CTRL-SHIFT-S to save, CTRL-Z to undo, etc. I had the same problem with a LibreOffice install from the Ubuntu repositories. I then asked a question at ask.libreoffice.org and was encouraged to try the newer version from LibreOffice's PPA. The problem persists. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141732 Kevin Suo changed: What|Removed |Added CC||suokunl...@126.com --- Comment #6 from Kevin Suo --- Just a code pointer to those who are interested in: When I open a PDF document from the start centre, the pickup of the "draw_pdf_import" filter seems to be determined by: PDFDetector::detect in sdext/source/pdfimport/filterdet.cxx You can observe this by setting a breakpoint when you are running LibreOffice using "make debugrun" break sdext/source/pdfimport/filterdet.cxx:194 However, it is very strange that, when I manually choose "PDF - Portable Document Format (Writer)" from the file format list dropdown in the file open dialog, this code is never hit. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94499] FORMATTING: "Expand formatting" affects non-empty adjacent cell
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94499 --- Comment #16 from Tom --- The reported bug was checked following the 6 steps reported on 2015-09-25 and was found to still exist in: Version: 7.1.4.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: a529a4fab45b75fefc5b6226684193eb000654f6 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: de-DE (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Regards Tom BTW: I wonder, why do I get review requests, when after 7 years it is obvious, that no developer is interested to fix this bug? As far as I am concerned, I have permanently disabled the option "Expand formatting" to workaround this persistent bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143080] Image in of presentation missing
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143080 --- Comment #5 from Telesto --- (In reply to Aron Budea from comment #4) > Right, I'm seeing the same thing, but isn't that a representation of the > same media file object? Hmm.. so some used a media file object icon (from 6.0) branch to create presentation.. And the icon changed in 6.1? I don't see image inside, so could be possible. Or it's kind of shape of course. I only noticing this being 'out of design'. But surely not clue what happened at 6.1.. So maybe I should do a bibisect simply out of curiosity -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
