[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143965] Irresponsive box of style preview under Home tab in tabbed view

medmedin2014, as Stuart said, the main issue described here (the scrolling
issue) has been resolved. However, if you still observe it in a master build,
please let us know (with the version details included).

The issue related to the selection jumping to the left is described in bug
141335 already. (Mentioned in the "see also" field here.)

If there is something else that needs fixing, please open a new, detailed bug
report specific to one single problem. Some other improvement are listed in bug
139429 as well, and check the meta bug 107237 too to make sure you are not
duplicating an existing issue.

Rethinking the behaviour I would say, it' expected. Paragraph has a paragraph
Style with direct formatting of the last part (see style inspector). Direct
formatting overwrites paragraph style and is retained, if you change paragraph
style.

Dear Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired),

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

I reported a few versions ago that Auto Spellchecking was not finding

Spellcheck is not finding any errors that I am making intentionally in order to
test it (after I discovered one accidentally misspelled work that Auto
Spellchecking did not find).

Running on most recent version of Win 10.

Oh, I guess I should have added that I'm confirming this issue both for Mageia
8 (version 7.2.2.2 from the repos) as well as TDF Fresh which I downloaded to
compare against.

And again, it surprises me that the reports so far have been mostly for
Thunderbird attachments, because all users (or just Linux ones?) opening any
*builtin* template(s) should being seeing this pop-up bug just as constantly as
I am; both on Writer invocation (with the default builtin template) and every
time they open another one via the Template Browser.

And the delay I'm seeing? I'm guessing that's because LO has to first figure
out it's a template file and then spawn an *editable* copy instead?

John L. ten Wolde  changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||john...@telus.net

--- Comment #12 from John L. ten Wolde  ---
I just upgraded to 7.2.2.2 and immediately got hit with this bug (new feature?)
and find it interesting that all reports and duplicates about this issue so far
have been in regard to Thunderbird or Firefox. My situation is even more
straight forward, I think.

I have a number of shared templates which I keep on all my systems in:

/usr/local/share/libreoffice/

I only find a need to edit or update these files on rare occasion and their
ownership belongs to root, making them, by definition 'read-only' for a normal
user.

So now, *every time* I start Writer I'm presented with a blank grey screen and
the pop-up saying "Document file 'outline.ott' is read-only." I then choose
the "Open Read-Only" button, and after a ridiculously long (5 to 15 second)
delay I get a new, editable "Untitled 1" copy as I normally would have *without
any wait* in previous versions.

Since every part of my workflow involves calling up a new instance of one or
more of these shared templates you can understand that I am seeing this pop-up
box *a lot*.

Also, if (on Writer invocation) I choose the "Cancel" button instead,
LibreOffice immediately exits me back to my desktop.

I'm guessing this isn't the intended user experience?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 145565] New: (Enhancement) In Writer, make it easier to align forms to text

2021-11-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145565

Bug ID: 145565
   Summary: (Enhancement) In Writer, make it easier to align forms
to text
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: erw...@alumni.beloit.edu

Description:
In Writer, it seems impossible to align forms with the text.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Writer.
2. Type up a quick text form.
3. Use Form Controls to try to add a text box.

Actual Results:
4. It's impossible to align it to text-based divisions, such as tab positions,
line positions, etc., and it can easily push these around if you slip up.

Expected Results:
5. By default, I ended up unable to size the text box to fit the text, and
slipped, and ended up with text wandering up and down. I found and enabled snap
to grid, and it still made text wander up and down. If I'm using Writer instead
of Draw, I expect to be able to fit the form to the text.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Version: 7.1.5.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 85f04e9f809797b8199d13c421bd8a2b025d52b5
CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.14.6; UI render: default; VCL: osx

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 145563] New: LibreOffice and NeoOffice fail to respect each other's selections of Pfeffer Mediaeval

2021-11-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145563

Bug ID: 145563
   Summary: LibreOffice and NeoOffice fail to respect each other's
selections of Pfeffer Mediaeval
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: erw...@alumni.beloit.edu

Description:
(I don't know if any other fonts run into similar bugs.)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I use both LibreOffice and NeoOffice because of different accessibility
constraints and color palettes. LibreOffice allows me to use spreadsheets
without getting migraines from marching ants, and allows me to use consistent
color palletes from other LibreOffice projects. NeoOffice allows me to increase
text sizes in the preferences, properties, etc. Both currently allow me to
disable blinking cursors and some other but not all flashing.

2. Have both LibreOffice and NeoOffice. I don't know if similar behavior occurs
with OpenOffice.

3. Install Pfeffer Mediaeval from here:
http://robert-pfeffer.net/schriftarten/englisch/nachgeladener_rahmen.html?got_tastaturbelegung.html
I installed it in my user Library, using Apple's Font Book application.

4. Create a Writer/.odt or Draw/.odg document in either LibreOffice or
NeoOffice, set some fonts to Pfeffer Mediaeval. Using either Characters, or
Styles, or both.

Actual Results:
5. Open the same document in either NeoOffice or LibreOffice, whichever you
didn't use in step 4, check the fonts. The text shows in Helvetica or Arial or
another bland and hard-to-read font. If I check the font info, it's italicized,
apparently because the current app can't detect Pfeffer Mediaeval. Go, set
fonts again, Pfeffer Mediaeval is in the list, use it.

6. Open the same document in either LibreOffice or NeoOffice, whichever you
didn't use in step 5, check the fonts. The text shows in Helvetica or Arial or
another bland and hard-to-read font. If I check the font info, it's italicized,
apparently because the current app can't detect Pfeffer Mediaeval. Go, set
fonts again, Pfeffer Mediaeval is in the list, use it.

7. Each time I fix it in one app, it breaks it in the other.

Expected Results:
8. Since both apps have access to Pfeffer Mediaeval, they should be able to
recognize the font when the other app sets it.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

tested in safe mode, too.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 145553] If users create form-fillable pdfs, the text forms use Helvetica instead of the user-selected fonts

2021-11-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145553

--- Comment #4 from MarjaE  ---
Okay, I understand the logic of choosing *some* standard font that any reader
is likely to be able to use.

In that case, however

1. An alert during export that LibreOffice will be substituting Helvetica would
be useful.

2. A dialogue during export allowing users to pick from a short list of fonts
would be more useful. I have trouble reading computer screens, and Helvetica
doesn't help. A choice of fonts could help users export fillable pdfs with
easier-to-read and/or more-appropriate fonts.

3. And the rigamarole of selecting fonts, individually, from the full list, for
each field turns out to be a useless waste of time. Maybe a short list of the
standard fonts would be useful.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 145096] Writer [Collected Words] ignores tick box – (When closing a document, remove the words collected from it, from the list.)

2021-11-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145096

--- Comment #3 from ThinkPud  ---
Dieter, thank you, I appreciate your suggestion, but unfortunately, it doesn’t
resolve the issue.

Writer is incorrectly storing the Collected Words list for every opened
document, in that session, even when it’s been told not to do that.

What you propose would ask that a user remembers to either reboot their
computer, or completely shut down LibreOffice, every time they wanted to start
or edit any document, just to avoid the collected words from previously opened
documents appearing. I couldn’t imagine anyone doing that as a matter of
routine.

The solution is for Writer to not cache words from each document, if “When
closing a document, remove the words collected from it, from the list.” has
been ticked/marked.

With it ticked/marked, simply closing a document should be all that is required
to clear the usable list, so the collected words of that document, will not
appear as suggestions in a different document. It would then behave as stated
in the LibreOffice 7.2 help page. See sentence in quotes below.

When closing a document, remove the words collected from it from the list

"When marked, the list is cleared upon closing the current document." When
cleared, makes the current Word Completion list available to other documents
after you close the current document. The list remains available until you exit
LibreOffice.

In that bug not all was done, UX agreed to warn the user during export that
he/she is using nonstandard fonts in form fields and give a simple confirmation
box:

Your document contains non-standard fonts that might be not readable on other
systems. Do you want to include these extra fonts?
[Help][Yes, include fonts] [_No, export as it_]

(No is the default, closing the box per x and maybe an additional cancel button
should stop the export.)

So I set New.

Hi, I'm not sure if I found a bug... but after converting an object to 3D with
the right mouse button, the "3D Settings" toolbar doesn't work. If the drawing
is edited in Draw (Subtract, Merge etc.) the "3D Settings" toolbar does not
work either. You cannot use the Tilt Down, Tilt Up, Tilt Left, Tilt Left,

It would be nice if the 3D functions could be applied to .svg files created by

Libre calc appears to want column number 1,2,3,etc
in other words the number returned in Libre Calc is off by one column because

A lot if you use German spell check language

Automatic spell checking needs to be enabled/ german dictionary installed

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 145558] New: reproducable Crash: VBA insert grafik, save, crash

2021-11-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 145558
   Summary: reproducable Crash: VBA insert grafik, save, crash
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: daniel.heise...@gmail.com

Description:
I tried to insert grafiks into calc using a macro.
A reproducable crash occurs when I insert a grafik into a sheet which ist "not
active", scale the grafik and then try to save the document.

Crash can be avoided (see the VBA script) when "focus/activesheet" is switched.

Steps to Reproduce:
REM  *  BASIC  *
sub LoadLogo
odoc = Thiscomponent

grafikname="Logo"
path=replace(Thiscomponent.Location,Thiscomponent.Title,"")
urlgrafik=path+"Logo.png"
oSheet = oDoc.Sheets(0)

ocell = oSheet.getcellbyposition(0,0)
call Insertgrafik(oSheet,ocell,urlgrafik,odoc,grafikname)
call SaveAndExport()

end sub

Sub Insertgrafik(oSheet,ocell,urlgrafik,odoc,grafikname)
Dim SizeAs New com.sun.star.awt.Size
Dim Size_maxAs New com.sun.star.awt.Size
' WORKAROUND ---
' This ins necessary. Else it will crash when we save afterwards.
oView = Thiscomponent.CurrentController
aSheet= Thiscomponent.getCurrentController().getActiveSheet()
oView.setActiveSheet(oSheet)
'---

oGrafik = oDoc.createInstance("com.sun.star.drawing.GraphicObjectShape")
oGrafik.GraphicURL = urlgrafik
oGrafik.name = grafikname
'Ankerposition festlegen

oPage = oSheet.drawpage
opage.add(oGrafik)
oGrafik.Anchor = oCell
new_Original_Size = oGrafik.Graphic.SizePixel

'Msgbox("widht:"+new_Original_Size.width+"
Height:"+new_Original_Size.Height)

' Height is im mikrometers
Target_Height=3000
factor=Target_Height/new_Original_Size.Height

size.width = new_Original_Size.width*factor
size.Height = new_Original_Size.Height*factor
oGrafik.setSize(size)
' undo WORKAROUND
oView.setActiveSheet(aSheet)
'
End Sub

Sub DeleteAllPics()
Dim oDoc As Object
Dim oDrawPage As Object
Dim oShape As Object
Dim iShape As Integer
Dim iSheet As Integer

For iSheet = 0 To oDoc.getSheets().getCount() - 1

'do until iShape = oDrawPage.getCount() > 0

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139932] DATE[VALUE](...) + TIME[VALUE](...) one second less than expected for some years and hours

2021-11-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139932

--- Comment #4 from Wolfgang Jäger  ---
Hard to understzand.

I traced the examples
=VALUE("1972-09-26")+TIME(2;0;0)
which has an even serial nuzmber (26568) relative to default nulldate.
and
=VALUE("1972-09-27")+TIME(2;0;0)
down to the IEEE 754 Double bit-pattern 64 bit).

The patterns were identical with the exception of the one bit for the
additional day in the second case (14th bit of the mantissa).
Using the code "HH:MM:SS.000" value-INT(value) was formatted to
01:59:59.9989500 in both cases.

The full date-time, however was formatted differently as the reporter
described.
I can't see any possible effect of rounding or error accumulation ... explaning
the experiences.
There must be a rather smart bug inside the date-time-formatting routine.

Since date-tiume-values are generally rounded DOWN for the display, there
should be a branch limiting the effect to some fraction of a second, and this
way avoiding the "59.999 s" where a full minute must be expected. However
this branch must be skipped for unknown reasons in rather rare cases.

The mentioned bit patterns (LSbit right) were
0 1001101 10010010010101010101010101010101010101010101 and
0 1001101 100100100100010101010101010101010101010101010101
respectively.

I had again a look at it with

Sidebar -> Page tab -> Header/Footer
Same content [All Pages], [First Page], [Left and Right Pages], [First, Left
and Right Pages]

Format -> Page Style -> Header/Footer
Same content on left and right pages
Same content on first page

So to be in line with comment 5 from Heiko, there should be two checkboxes in
Sidebar -> Page tab -> Header/Footer
Same content on left and right pages
Same content on first page
