Yes, I have tried that as well... but honestly, I found it was much easier to simply copy my Xorg over from a flash disk. I did have a kernel issue with 14.04 which required me to modprobe one of the various snd-aoa codecs and I still could not get it running, though Fritz pointed out that I should try using alsamixer to select the correct hardware device. I just think PPC 15.04 has some issues, personally. when I tried Lubuntu earlier on (before release) I did not find as many larger issues... but I have been very busy and not able to devote as much time to testing Lubuntu PPC as I would like. Right now I am running 14.04 and it is working great for me. I am considering running 15.04 and 15.10 as linux containers. It looks like the Xorg issue kills the ubiquity installer when it tries to partition the disk or else I would dual boot. Hello Gentleman, As was mentioned previousely, and as is written in PPC FAQ, better is to try load missing module.If that will not help, then there is need to try 12.04 Live with old PowerPC sound modules and check type of hardware together with /proc/cpuinfo for model type. From that type can be made patch for upstream kernel as migration from snd-powerpc to sns-aoa-* is not yet done. Hi Peter, My issue running Lubuntu (and Mini and Debian Jessie) on PPC was much larger than a sound issue. There is little I can do to even boot to anything coherent. I cannot even get to a console reliably to even begin to try to modprobe, or mess with xorg, or any of those fine things that PPC often requires. In the Ubuntu mini, I would run for a while fine, but if I tried to install something the computer would simply turn off.
