[MlMt] Editing notification sounds within MailMate (possibility)
There is an app called SoundSource by Rogue Amoeba that may give you additional variations on sounds. It WILL NOT allow you to change sound from within program, but choose your notification sound and SoundSource will allow you to tweak that sound from within the SoundSource program. https://rogueamoeba.com/soundsource/ With pleasure, Jenna___ mailmate mailing list mailmate@lists.freron.com https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate
Re: [MlMt] Few missing e-mails in Protonmail account
FWIW I use Proton + MM without issue (although not with heavy volume). Do you see those mails “missing” in Thunderbird too ? On 13 Sep 2022, at 17:30, Vahan Galachyan wrote: Yes, what Benny said. On 2022-09-13 at 21:22:48 UTC-0400 (Wed, 14 Sep 2022 01:22:48 +) Henry Seiden is rumored to have said: Yes. Those show where the counter icon is to be located, and is labeled as such in the menu, SFAIK. Nothing to do with sound, right? No, not right. Each of the 4 radio buttons on the icon on the left side selects a distinct set of Counter settings on the right side. Each of the 4 Counters specifies a single mailbox, a selected type of message being counted, and the notification mechanisms, including what sound to play when the count changes. That Preferences pane has been confusing MM users for a decade. I understand why Benny did it that way, as it makes sense from a coding point of view. I don't have any brilliant ideas for a different way to present the functionality that isn't mystifying. -- Bill Cole b...@scconsult.com or billc...@apache.org (AKA @grumpybozo and many *@billmail.scconsult.com addresses) Not Currently Available For Hire ___ mailmate mailing list mailmate@lists.freron.com https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate
Re: [MlMt] Message received sound configuration [feature request]
I think what Sam is referring to is the Counters tab in MM's preferences, which allows you to specify the sound produced for the "Count:" dropdown in your chosen Mailbox. You can do that for each of the four badges you can configure for the MM icon in the dock (even if you decide not to actually display an icon badge for that count). In my case, I have a simple setup with one corner configured to count (and display) unread messages, so the sound I specify gets generated on all incoming mail. For outgoing mail, I configure the "Sent Messages Sound:" in the Composer tab of MM's prefs. Regards. -Eric On 13 Sep 2022, at 21:22, Henry Seiden wrote: Yes. Bill, So, yeah. Thanks for that hint. Mystifying and wrong as to current status. Outgoing sound shown is wrong and doesn’t accurately follow what the current setting is… I’m afraid to mess with it. Yes, what Benny said. I was looking to switch to Proton, but found some posts where people are talking about a couple of Protonmail Bridge bugs that make some emails disappear *sometimes*.
