[MCN-L] MCN annual conference proceedings
Apologies for what old hands will probably think is a dumb question, but can someone point me to the published proceedings of the MCN annual conference, either in print or online please? Thanks, Professor Stephen Brown De Montfort University Portland Building The Gateway Leicester LE1 9BH tel: 0116 257 7173 mob: 0787 246 3355 Director, FuzzyPhoto project http://fuzzyphoto.edublogs.comhttp://fuzzyphoto.edublogs.com/ Director, Knowledge Media Design http://kmd.dmu.ac.ukhttp://kmd.dmu.ac.uk/ Visiting Fellow, Centre for Distance Education, University of London International Programmes http://cdelondon.wordpress.com/ http://www.dmu.ac.uk/research/research-faculties-and-institutes/art-design-humanities/phrc/photographic-history-research-centre-phrc.aspx

there is *never* a dumb question ! Unfortunately, MCN does not archive proceedings (few presenters in fact write a paper). The best you can do is look at the MCN conference site and see the program abstracts http://wired.ivvy.com/event/MCN13/agenda if a presentation looks interesting, you may want to check their SlideShare / professional page for more information. This is a great opportunity to pose the question: what are the benefits / challenges of documenting conferences? as a historian I am all for it ! second question: what are the most efficient documentation forms? idea: could MCN organizers in Dallas recruit a few bloggers? Stephen, (and everyone else, hello!), MCN 2013 was fully recorded, some with video and the rest with audio. Almost all talks are currently on our youtube channel, with the rest being processed. http://www.youtube.com/user/museumcn On Wed, Jan 8, 2014 at 12:36 PM, Trilce Navarrete trilce.navarrete at gmail.com wrote: there is *never* a dumb question ! Actually, starting in 2012, MCN has begun videotaping conference sessions. If you go to http://www.youtube.com/user/museumcn, you can watch select sessions from 2012 and all of 2013. Twitter searches of the #mcn2012 and #mcn2013 hashtags will also give you a view of what ideas conference participants found most interesting.
