or ISM which basically requires dropping the tranny to get at on a 
4matic. Scan it and see what codes it is throwing, CP will be solenoids 
or if you do a deep diagnostic looking into the coding it will be blank 
or all 0s.  You can get a good tested CP for $400 then programming it 
will cost you more,  $250-300 for fluid/filter change kit so you're 
looking at $1k or so.  If the car is in good condition it would be worth it

Depends on what “acting up” is about. Could be hydraulic pump which is a known 
common failure mode.

Likely the conductor plate. Put a scanner on it to be sure. Offer $1k with the 
other issues, $250 or so for CP kit and fluid, fix the other niggles at your 
leisure. Don’t waste her time!
