Re: [openstack-dev] [Nova] Liberty Process, Deadlines and Dates for Nova
A quick bump for this thread because... * liberty-1 is next week * spec freeze is on June 25th * people are unsure about the exception process On 10 June 2015 at 16:45, John Garbutt wrote: > On 4 June 2015 at 12:42, John Garbutt wrote: >> Hi, >> >> Following up from nova-meetings and this summit session: >> https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/YVR-nova-liberty-process > > > >> With that in mind, does this seem like a good idea? >> June 12: spec review day (to be confirmed) > > Note this is happening on Friday, and its confirmed. > > A day where I hope everyone can help review nova-specs, so we can get > as many specs merged before the spec freeze deadline thats coming up > soon. > > We can discuss the details more in the nova-meeting tomorrow. > >> July 10: feature review bash day (to be confirmed) >> August 7: bug triage day (to be confirmed) >> September 11: bug review bash day (to be confirmed) >> >> I am adding more details here: >> https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Nova/Liberty_Release_Schedule > > I have updated the above wiki page. As (poorly) advertised, the exception process for the spec freeze should be described here: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Nova/Liberty_Release_Schedule I suspect it needs some re-writing for clarity, and certainly needs more eyes on it. Do reach out to me with any questions. > I noticed I missed out a few dates in the original list, so here is > the updated list: > * June 23-25: liberty-1 -- spec freeze for L, backlog stays open > * July 13-17: non-priority feature proposal freeze > * July 21-23: mid-cycle meetup > * July 28-30: liberty-2 -- non-priority feature freeze > * August 17-21: Feature Proposal Freeze > * September 1-3: liberty-3 -- align with string freeze, etc, open specs for M Thanks, John __ OpenStack Development Mailing List (not for usage questions) Unsubscribe: openstack-dev-requ...@lists.openstack.org?subject:unsubscribe http://lists.openstack.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openstack-dev

A day where I hope everyone can help review nova-specs, so we can get as many specs merged before the spec freeze deadline thats coming up soon. We can discuss the details more in the nova-meeting tomorrow. > July 10: feature review bash day (to be confirmed) > August 7: bug triage day (to be confirmed) > September 11: bug review bash day (to be confirmed) > > I am adding more details here: > https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Nova/Liberty_Release_Schedule I have updated the above wiki page. It helps define what all the deadlines mean, and how the exceptions will be processed. I noticed I missed out a few dates in the original list, so here is the updated list: * June 23-25: liberty-1 -- spec freeze for L, backlog stays open * July 13-17: non-priority feature proposal freeze * July 21-23: mid-cycle meetup * July 28-30: liberty-2 -- non-priority feature freeze * August 17-21: Feature Proposal Freeze * September 1-3: liberty-3 -- align with string freeze, etc, open specs for M Thanks, John __ OpenStack Development Mailing List (not for usage questions) Unsubscribe: openstack-dev-requ...@lists.openstack.org?subject:unsubscribe http://lists.openstack.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openstack-dev
[openstack-dev] [Nova] Liberty Process, Deadlines and Dates for Nova
Hi, Following up from nova-meetings and this summit session: https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/YVR-nova-liberty-process We agreed we follow the same deadlines as kilo, roughly. Importantly, we wanted to keep the blueprint freeze, and non-priority feature freeze process from kilo. This means we align with: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Liberty_Release_Schedule Adding in priority specs, this gives us: June 23-25: liberty-1 -- spec freeze for L, backlog stays open July 21-23: mid-cycle meetup July 28-30: liberty-2 -- non-priority feature freeze September 1-3: liberty-3 -- align with string freeze, etc, open specs for M Now in the past a focused day of effort has really helped. We all hang out in #openstack-nova as usual, but we all try to focus on something specific that needed really soon. With that in mind, does this seem like a good idea? June 12: spec review day (to be confirmed) July 10: feature review bash day (to be confirmed) August 7: bug triage day (to be confirmed) September 11: bug review bash day (to be confirmed) I am adding more details here: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Nova/Liberty_Release_Schedule Thanks, John __ OpenStack Development Mailing List (not for usage questions) Unsubscribe: openstack-dev-requ...@lists.openstack.org?subject:unsubscribe http://lists.openstack.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openstack-dev
