Re: Converting YouTube to MP3
Dane, I confess to not having read entirely through this tread, so others might have provided similar reasons to mine for gravitating to this program, however, my reasons are as follows, and quite simple. I found myself listening through some audio oriented material from a radio station's broadcast following the Kennedy assassination in November of 1963. My issue that brought about the need for such a program as SONGR came about because I couldn't figure out a way to mark my place so I could return the next day and resume listening where I left off. Considering that these files could be up to six hours long, you can imagine how frustrating this could be. I can assure you that it didn't make the experience of listening to these historic and sad broadcasts any more pleasant than they already were. I can also put these files on my VRStream and listen to them in my bed room at my leisure, fast forward and rewinding them at my pleasure. So, all in all, this little application is to me a kind of Godsend. At 05:19 PM 5/15/2014, you wrote: I'm missing something obviously, why would people want to do this? Yes Howard, Humberto is so right about SONGR. I for one, have downloaded and converted lots of great material to .mp3 files from Youtube in the past few months. You really can't beat it. I've still yet to fully explore, or find as much satisfaction from other sources, so I might have to consult with Humberto again myself concerning those issues, but this is one you wont be able to do without once you start using it for Youtube files. Hello all, I hope I haven't missed a message, but you could try: www.listentoyoutube.com You copy the U R L of your Youtube clip into the appropriate edit box and it will convert and bring you back a download link. Unlike the old www.youtubetompe.org which was scuppered by Youtube, the clips don't stay up for long, so get them as soon as they're done, or you'll have to re-do. Hi Peter and list. Here's a software I use to make the audio of YouTube videos into mp3s. It's available free at www.dvdvideosoft.com This site has several pieces of software to download; I use the Free YouTube to MP3 Converter; it's pretty accessible; after installing it, go to Options and make sure to uncheck the box that says download album art; you don't need those; also check the box under Advanced to make the program compatible with your screen reader. I use the software with System Access and have found it easy to use; thanks. Re: Converting YouTube to MP3
I used to do that, all the time, with Concert Vault, the archive of Bill Graham's sound board recordings, of classic rock shows, from the Fillmore, King Biscuit Flower Hour, etc.; it takes a lot of patience, but, it is worth it sometimes. One has to do a bit of editing, to join the files, as they gap them, at the oddest points! You can create a great concert, joining the audience applause, then marking regions, to play tracks, for your sighted friends, with audio players, in their cars, etc.! I used CD Architect, to create the final CD master files. -Original Message- From: Dane Trethowan Sent: Thursday, May 15, 2014 4:37 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Converting YouTube to MP3 In that case why not just capture the stream in real time, I believe you have Sound Forge?
