I am having problems with this “ ‘ “character. Example DesĀ’ree Dustin OĀ’Halloran Gisbert OĀ’Sullivan It's funny that your examples would be using somethinge else than what you'd claim was the problem... But anyway: yes, you're right. Those characters could make the comparison fail. It currently only strips out straight ' and " during the comparison. But what you're using aren't even simple backticks, but something more specific. Hi: I am going on testing the “Browse on Spotify” feature. It seems that the matching between my local author tag name and the Spotify author tag name has to be perfect. I am having problems with this “ ‘ “character. Example DesÂ’ree Dustin OÂ’Halloran Gisbert OÂ’Sullivan I am changing my 421 authors (114) because when working it is very interesting. All works ok. But when using the feature Browse on Spotify inside an Artist on my local Artist list, sometime finds the Spotify contents and sometimes not. I think this is due to the artist name tag. The Artist name must be written exactly as is in Spotify. Is there any way to solve this? Unfortunately I have to rely on text matching, unless you happen to have an artist imported from Spotify already. -If I use Alan Parsons Project as my Artist tag name Browse on Spotify is empty. If I use The Alan Parsons Project it works ok. I can probably tweak this to strip "the" and other well known from the mapping. I actually thought I already did this - but probably do so in other plugins where I'm facing similar issues. -If I use Bach as my Artist tag name Browse on Spotify is empty. If I use Johann Sebastian Bach it works ok. Well, "smart" matching can only do a bit of guessing. "Bach" is just too different from "Johann Sebastian Bach" to match without a lot of context. I bet there are other artists called "bach". ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.4 - more personalised content
Hi Michael: I am using Spotty 4.49 in my with a dockerized 8.1.1 version of LMS in my Synology NAS. Mixing Spotify and local content is an impressive feature. All works ok. But when using the feature ÂBrowse on Spotify inside an Artist on my local Artist list, sometime finds the Spotify contents and sometimes not. I think this is due to the artist name tag. The Artist name must be written exactly as is in Spotify. Is there any way to solve this? For example -If I use ÂAlan Parsons Project as my Artist tag name ÂBrowse on Spotify is empty. If I use ÂThe Alan Parsons Project it works ok. -If I use ÂBach as my Artist tag name ÂBrowse on Spotify is empty. If I use ÂJohann Sebastian Bach it works ok. Is there any way to change this behaviour? Or must I rename all my local Artist tag names as the Spotify names? Thank you very much for your work Michael. Your work is superb. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.4 - more personalised content
Listening through spotty plug-in, affects recommendations and the personal playlists of Spotify? Unfortunately no. There's a bug in librespot which makes this fail. I'm currently working on updating the helper binary to the latest. We'll see whether this is working then. Unfortunately I don't think it's fixed yet. One developer says it was working at some point, but Spotify changed something on their end which broke his implementation. Thanks for the report. I can confirm I'm seeing the same. But I'm not sure there's anything I can do. Right now I believe this is a data problem on Spotify's end which will be cleared soon. Eg. Not the case as far as I can tell. Seefeel is the artist I'm looking at at the moment, and all their albums except for the oldest two have duplicate entries. For some artists I've seen album titles all in upper case, with duplicates in proper case, that kind of thing. I do see deluxe and remastered versions, but these duplicates I'm seeing are of identical entries. Hi @mherger, Is it possible to "like" a spotify song while playing in LMS? As in the spotify app when you click on "heart" icon (previously "plus" icon iirc) - meaning not adding a song to LMS favorites, but marking a song as "liked" on spotify and in effect the song ends up in "Liked Songs" special playlist mh_'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=50754 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112962 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Additional observation... when it happens, LMS thinks it's playing for about 10 seconds, then the play bar resets to 0:00 and music starts, but then the skipping begins and continues every few seconds. Pulling my hair out here... I've been running LMS + Spotty for a year and it's been pretty much rock solid. As of yesterday, with no known system changes to either LMS or my players, occasional Spotify songs are "stuttering"/hiccuping. Basically playback will stop for a few seconds every 10-15 seconds and then resume. Happens more when players are synch'd, and this can/does cause synch'd players to go out of sync. I have an Odroid XU4 running DietPi with LMS 8.1.1 and a Squeezelite player. In my study I have an iPad1 on a B&W Zeppelin running Squeezecast. The squeezelite player works fine with Spotty, but the squeezecast will freeze (requiring iPad reboot) unless in File Types I set Spotty ogg to disabled. >From playing around with C-3PO I saw the squeezcast reports it supports ogg, but apparently it does not (at least not in combination with spotty). Is there a way to disable ogg only for my squeezecast (e.g. by MAC), but not for the squeezelite player? /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/custom-convert.conf does not change when I change File Types in the server settings. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.4 - more personalised content
Hi, It's me with the broken Spotify Connect again. It seems that something on my network that is blocking Spotify Connect announcements. It's nothing to do with Spotty, so this is off-topic, but maybe someone has had a similar problem before? * I can see players signed into the same account as the iOS app and use them * I can see all the players on Spotify Desktop on the same machine as LMS when "Don't announce" is switched off. * I can only see the Spotify Desktop on the Server if I am signed into the same account on the phone. * Disabling the firewall on the server does not change the situation. So the key issue is that Spotify Desktop running on *any* machine on my network (not just the server) is only visible in the apps if they are signed into the matching account. Otherwise it cannot be seen, which is exactly the situation with Spotty's players. Could it be the router blocking this somehow? I also have a pi-hole on my network. What is the protocol by which the players get announced?
