Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] OpenVPN Client Player possible ?
Just to let you know My Pi with Pcp 3.02 + OpenVPN Client, has been running 24Hrs now playing a random playlist and all is fine. I also use a Hypervisor (ESXi 6) thought on a larger system and would recommend it. Theres a howto here on installing ESXi on NUC http://www.virten.net/2015/03/esxi-6-0-image-for-intel-nuc/ *Players:* SliMP3,Squeezebox3 x3,Receiver,SqueezePlayer,PiCorePlayer x3,Wandboard *Server:* LMS Version: 7.9.0 - 1475786002 on Centos 7 VM on ESXi 6 on Dell T320 *Plugins:* AutoRescan/BBCiPlayer/PowerSave/PowerSwitchIII/Squeezecloud *Remotes:* iPeng8/Orangesqueeze/PC/Jivelite *Music:* 383GB,1269 albums 17756 songs 4381 artists mostly FLACs *Want a webapp ?* See http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?104305-Webapp-for-LMS Jeff07971's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=49290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106413 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Oh thankyou :) the NUC will supersede my agin HPmicroserver , its about time to change as routine maintenance of a large music collection . Using virtual machines just seems a good idea for many reasons , and i intend to run other stuff on it to , plans are not set yet . Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] New plugin for audio bookmarks
pippin wrote: > I think I have to report another bug in the plugin. > When the plugin is active the "repeat single track" mode no longer > works. > Thanks! You are right. In the repeat=1 mode the newsong event is triggered when the track repeats. This causes a jump to the last bookmarked position (track duration minus treshold setting value). Will be fixed with the next update. I did not notice that because i never use the repeat modes (actually i wrote another small plugin specifically to prevent them from being (accidentally) activated) - so i never got the idea to see what happens if i activate them :) Please let me know if you need this now - otherwise i wait with the upload for a couple of days to see if anything else comes up (and to do some more testing with the various combinations of the repeat and shuffle settings). sternenjaeger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57562 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102859 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Apple will require HTTPS connections for iOS apps by the end of 2016
Apple announced in June that they will require of all iOS app store to support HTTPS in 2017. Will this be a issue for 3rd party iOS that access LMS? As far as I know LMS does not support streaming over HTTPS. If this is a issue, how should we as 3rd party developers handle it? [SlimDevices: Plugins] piCorePlayer and arialuni.ttf font for SB Classic
Recently moved my SB Server from my windows machine to a RPI2 running piCorPlayer. Works great! One issue is, I have lots of songs with Chinese names. They currently show up as phonetic names in English, not the actual Chinese characters. On Windows, I simply copy arialuni.ttf to the Graphics folder in SB server directory, restart the SB Server, and then the Chinese fonts would show up correctly on my SB Classic. This has been working fine for all these years, even with the latest nightly build. I tried to do this for the piCorePlayer, but for some reason this is not working. I am not sure if this is a LMS issue on Linux, or unique to piCorPlayer. On piCorePlayer, the LMS graphics folder is in /usr/local/slimserver/Graphics Files there are links to /tmp/tcloop/slimserver/usr/local/slimserver/Graphics/, which is a read-only FS. I copied arialuni.ttf to /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/ttf/arialuni.ttf Then created a link via: ln -sf /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/ttf/arialuni.ttf /usr/local/slimserver/Graphics/arialuni.ttf Then restarted LMS. But this is not working. I even tried removing the existing *.ttf files in Graphics folder. Still the same. Anyone know what's going on? Does the linux/arm version of LMS support arialuni.ttf font replacement? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Apple will require HTTPS connections for iOS apps by the end of 2016
I honestly don't know. Apple will allow exceptions on a case-by-case basis, I hope we qualify and can convince them about this, otherwise 3rd Party Apps will no longer see updates from that point on. It's not so much a question of streaming, the whole access to LMS is without http support and - what's more important - principally can't be (you can't have a certificate for a home server on a private IP address). So I really can't see them enforcing this. But hey, it's Apple, you never know... --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 9, the Universal App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106426 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] New plugin for audio bookmarks
No, I usually don't use that mode, too, and actually I was considering to even make it harder to access in iPeng (making you require a long-press or something) to prevent people from accidentally activating it. That said... before you release... I think there are additional issues: I'm not sure whether "skip back", which is supposed to jump to the beginning of the track, still works correctly (I think it might have a similar problem), the same is true for jumping to the currently playing track in a current playlist, which is also supposed to jump to the beginning of the track. Please check whether you fix works for these actions, too (in any repeat mode) --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 9, the Universal App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102859 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

You can get a cert without a DNS address? At least you'd need a fixed ID or something, don't you? Logitech might want to prep up MySqueezebox.com, though, I think it still doesn't support SSL, doesn't it?

I wanted to always jump to the bookmarked position if "newsong" hits the bookmarked track of an album/playlist. But i do see your point - If the user "moves" in a playlist (with buttons or by selecting a specific track in the current playlist) then tracks should be started at their beginning. Well, my background is more in backend development, so usually i don't have to care a lot about user experience :) Will take a couple of days - please skip the next lines if you're not interested in the details: My plugin subscribes to "playlist loadtracks/loadalbum/addtracks" events and - if it finds a matching bookmark - issues a "playlist index" command to move to the correct track. This then triggers "newsong" which i use to move to the bookmarked position in track. If the user moves around in the playlist this also triggers newsong events, so i need to implement a trigger mechanism, to be able to distinguish between "newsong" events triggered by the user or by myself. Not a big deal but with all the possible combinations of local/remote/albums/playlists/playmodes/button actions/slider actions i want to be sure that i don't introduce new side effects. sternenjaeger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57562 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102859 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] New plugin for audio bookmarks
Yea. That's always the problem in a Squeezebox system: you are playing with APIs and interactions without having a clearly defined state model and also with the internal and external APIs being somewhat different in some cases. --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 9, the Universal App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102859 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Apple will require HTTPS connections for iOS apps by the end of 2016
You can install a cert on an internal server that is sufficient to be accepted by a modern browser. Free Certs are available from Let's Encrypt and there are scripts that will auto renew for you.
