[RBW] Bikes make it possible...
Number one by a large margin: Spend more time with my daughter. She goes to bed at 7 - I only have a 20 minute walk to work, but by bike it us 10 minutes. Those 10 minutes matter when I only have about 120 minutes between leaving work and bedtime. Number two: Get stuff done faster, cheaper and with less pollution. Grocery shopping is fast and easy by bike. Anything else would be slow and frustrating, or expensive. Cars are dangerous and pollute, locally and globally. Number three: Feel the freedom of being fast and efficient. I don't move swiftly on my own two feet. Being a clumsy and lumbering runner, riding a bike is one of the only ways for me to feel that way. Bikes make it possible for me to turn a 3 mile round trip to the Post Office or grocery store by car into a 15 or 20 mile detour by bike. My around-the-block ride is three miles, and I sometimes make that loop when I don't have time for a ride. The bicycle allows me to do the only thing of significance (investment of time, resources, and a practiced skill) that I do without the feeling that I should have done a better job. So it's hugely uplifting. Chris Johnson Sanger, Texas -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group.
