Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] transferring to new machine
Does anyone know of an easy way to transfer a LMS setup to an new machine without having to manually do the lot again? Is there a way to export and re-import? There's no tool I'm aware of. But you can copy the configuration to a certain degree: it's all in the prefs folder (see Settings/Information) and its plugin sub-folder. You'll just have to make sure to get rid of all paths in those files, and the server_uuid in server.prefs. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

My issue is that when I start up, the Boom powers on by default, but the Max2Play unit does not. I want it the other way around. They are set to be powered on and off separately. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] transferring to new machine
Hi guys, For ages I've been meaning to move from windows to Linux, but I've been putting it off as re-setting up everything from scratch (plugins, settings, sync timings etc) all seems a bit of a hassle. Does anyone know of an easy way to transfer a LMS setup to an new machine without having to manually do the lot again? Is there a way to export and re-import? I think you do need SB Player or similar. I havent used it for ages but pretty sure you can tell it where your LMS server is (ip) and use the vpn to connect. Is there a bandwidth limiter ? Not sure. All I can say is that I can use iPeng on iOS with a VPN and set the bandwidth to MP3 level and can listen when Im away VB2.4 STORAGE *QNAP TS419P (NFS) Living Room* - Joggler & SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 -> Celestion F20s *Office* - Pi3+Sreen -> Sony TAFE320 -> Celestion F10s / Pi2+DAC & SB3 -> Onkyo CRN755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - Pi2+DAC ->ToppingTP21 ->AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - SB Touch ->Sherwood AVR ->Mordaunt Short M10s Everything controlled by iPeng d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110237 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Tx - guess that explains why it seemed very laggy! I'd not bought the native SB player since it would be streaming from my FLAC library and my requirements are for something more lightweight. Networking always work as long as you use the correct kit and keep the design simple. I am afraid you are doing neither. Effectively you are trying to save the price of a data SIM card and appropriate router by picking our brains for ideas but without initially telling us the whole picture. The problem is nothing to do with LMS its entirely a networking issue. LMS (and probably Roon) requires a working network. Without spending some money you are constantly going to run into these sort of issues. The acronym KISS really does apply to networking. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Double Scrobbles
I don't know what has changed, but recently I found out that all tracks I play via LMS / Squeezebox Touch are scrobbled twice on last.fm. This was not the case earlier. On searching online, I only found references to double scrobbles in Spotify, but this does not concern spotify plays, these are streamed from a local collection. (I have Spotty plugin installed but there are no last.fm settings in there) I have upgraded to the last LMS version, 7.9.2, and re-installed the last.fm plugin, but unfortunately this does not help. There are only two places to activate scrobbling in LMS: in the plugin settings and for eacht individual player. I have no clue where to look for the solution for this. Would appreciate any help! OLD setup: little RPi had everything on it; LMS, music on usb stick, SqueezeLite, Jivelite, the works. and it worked fine for a while. then, it started acting up in various ways, e.g., LMS just stops playing, volume drops, hdmi display became non-touch, etc. so i decided to trim it all the way since i was buying a brand new Intel NUCi7 kit. NEW setup: LMS runs on the new NUC with music on a SSD. RPi runs squeezelite and jivelite. Network-wise: RPi and NUC are on the same LAN with a Linksys router (NO internet, i cut the cord to Windstream). RPi has no wifi now. NUC has wifi connection to the mobile hotspot (T-Mobile) averaging now about 0.6 Mbps (normally up to 20 Mbps) after using up my monthly bucket. Wishlist: be able to run both LMS and Roon on NUC. they have been successfully installed but there are Issues: 1) Roon Bridge and SqueezeLite cannot coexist with the Allo DigiOne output device. if i stop SqueezeLite, Roon works; otherwise, it does not see it. 2) forgetting Roon for a moment, LMS has problems getting to mysqueeze.com. Firefox has no problems going anywhere including mysqueeze.com. i've installed linux packages from the terminal without any problems. so, i know the internet access via wifi works. it would seem LMS is the only guy with issues. i have pursued the network interface metric angle without success so far. any more ideas for me to try will be most welcome... pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110232 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Problems with http://lms:9000/stream.mp3
I've not used this method for ages but wanted a quick method of using my android phone as a player. In a browser or Foobar it connects and I can select it as a player in LMS (Mozilla from [ip address]) but it only plays for a few seconds, then stops. If I try from a PC it says connection reset. I then tried from my tablet and music starts playing after a few minutes but the progress bar jumps around and is generally erratic. Is this playback method still supported? mr-b's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10044 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110237 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Are you actually saying that your Pi was connected to your NUC by LAN cable and not originally by WiFi and that the NUC had both WiFi (to the Hotspot) and LAN to the Pi? If so then the NUC was probably sending its internet packets via the LAN cable - the fastest connection. You need to explain more about your networking setup. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Only streaming from Internet is not working; all else ok.
I think, if you had enabled Proxied Streaming in LMS for this player and the remote player had started to work when trying to play internet radio then it would have indicated that internet access from the LMS machine was working fine and that the problem was internet access from the player machine (and you would have sidestepped the issue ... allowing you to listen while researching further at a lower priority). Seems odd that reenabling (disabling and then enabling?) WiFi on the RPi player made it work given that clearly Wi-fi was working on it already (since you were able to SSH into it etc). So perhaps there was/is some sort of timing issue with the RPi somehow not picking up the gateway address or DNS server address via DHCP. ifconfig when it stops working next time might help in diagnosis. On the LMS machine ... have you tried restarting LMS long after the reboot completes? Hi Digimaster, I have now tested the 2.03.40 and the remote playing of DSD files works with it but playing of Radio Paradise AAC 320/128 still doesn't work. I reverted back again to .25 again. /Jan JaMo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56386 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108292 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I see how this could get annoying. Maybe it should just count the .cue files processed and then log this number if error logging is selected for the scan module. I don't think it creates dupes, but I'm curious about how LMS processes this. Maybe information is just overwritten by whatever is scanned last. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Only streaming from Internet is not working; all else ok.
What is the IP gateway address set on the RPI ? What is the IP gateway address set on the NUC ? Internet radio will play directly from a player and not through LMS - if Rpi cannot access internet - internet streams won't play but yet will be able to communicate with other devices onLAN. LMS WebUI timer is often irrelevant - it is not synced to player progress at start. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110232 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Scanner.log has lots of refs to playlists and missing wavs from .cue files
Yes of course I don't want dups, but that's rather a side issue. I'm very gradually working my way through the DAO rips to convert them to track rips. But I still want them in the library meanwhile, hence I don't wish to exclude .cue files! The issue is the log filling up with superfluous info that swamps out any errors. mr-b's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10044 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110218 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
