maybe I'm near the soluction :P
but I can't put parameters in the command /opt/Trolltech/Qtopia/bin/qcop
send QPE/Application/qpe 'RotationManager::setCurrentRotation(90)'

but the command

/opt/Trolltech/Qtopia/bin/qcop send QPE/Application/qpe
'RotationManager::defaultRotation()'

runs... so it seems that it isn't possible to put anything into brackets...

NFS gone after upgrade?

2008-10-03 Thread H. Rosmanith

hello,

I did an "opkg upgrade" from 2007 dist to 2008.8, and changed the
/etc/opkg/* files accordingly:

after doing an upgrade, I'm unable to nfs-mount exported filesystems from my

Cheers for that, I ought to think about things before just saying them.
Given I'm running FDOM it's quite likely the gesture facility is doing
something

Ah dammit, just re-ran powertop and it''s not doing it today. It's now at
80% Timer Tick and other processor/kernel related stuff.

For reference, to build powertop (and pretty much any other binary) you'll
need to

opkg install gcc g++ cpp gcc-symlinks make binutils binutils-symlinks
libc6-dev ncurses ncurses-dev gettext

and then

ln -s /usr/bin/libncurses.so /usr/lib/libncursesw.so

because it links ncursesw (wide character support?) and I couldn't find that
in the opkg repos. Of course you could just hack the powertop Makefile to
link to the straight libncurses. There are a few kernel parameters it
recommends, but I haven't yet got around to building my own kernel.

Right -- I am talking about stable git branch for kernel itself.
Currently updating of kernel in packaging is "rather conservative"...
something I both approve of and am a bit dubious about at the same time.
At least if folks can get at it from unstable it's OK, but I wonder
what the deal is with mixing stable basis for the distro with
cherrypicked kernel from unstable when it comes to module packages.

Right, when it sets power off at the end of your pasting, it has had it.
It should have taken some card information packets successfully by then.

I have seen trouble with the connector physically give this behaviour.
For example, one device here needs the SIM card in to press the SD part
of the connector down so it makes contact. If you didn't add a SIM yet,
give it a try. The symptom matches the possibility fine.

In the factory, SD card is used for production, so it is 100% tested
(and fairly unlikely to die).

Just as a clarification, isn't the "stable" kernel tree only actually
available in the unstable repository currently? Even testing has a
kernel version from August (git a1e97c611), and the same version is in
2008.8 (stable) repository.
