On the options you have one called "Hide distance" it's the distance in pixels from the hint to the mouse position where the hint will hide. The minimum it's 50 pixels and it cannot be changed, if you move less than 50 pixels the hint doesn't dissappear. This distance it's more than the separation on pixels of one message to other. The solution it's Ritlabs should allow us to put less than 50 pixels on the option. -- /\/ Using The Bat! 5.0.0.101 ALPHA Professional / \ / \ / Windows XP (5.1.2600 Service Pack 3) /\/ e t \/ i c i o u s Plugins: AntiSpamSniper 3.2.5.1 and miniRelayPlug 0.05.50 Spanish Translator of The Bat! Re: 5.0.0.99
Hello all. Now i am testing current alpha (5.0.0.101) and now i have some notes about hints: 1. On the beginning - you must provide a interface to configure each class of hints, because it can be sometimes very irritate, the current global configuration is too simple 2. Still the hints are not enough sensitive, when i move mouse position to another item when current hint is visible, hint no change. Anyway, i think that current hints design is effect of lack idea about good interface design. Why i think in this way - because information in hints duplicate information from other parts of interface. For example: * hint over subject shows image of message - this is a worse duplicate of Auto-view. Why worse - because sometimes message is readable (short), sometimes not (long message). For typical not so short messages the hint is not readable and, in this case, is this hint for ? * hint over sender, receiver - copy of context menu in message view when you use RPM over line From, or To * hint over folder in folder tree - copy of Properties window. In my opinion, the better solution will be when context-menu will be more context sensitive, for example context menu in message list should be different in each column: different for column with addresses, different for column with attachments, different for column with Subject. Next, will be good when menu auto hide rare used items. Third, user should have tool for adjustment context menu for each class/group. As the effect the interface will be cleaner and still useful. Bottomline: please move hints functionality to more context sensitive context menu and will be OK! -- G_K (SpamoĊap) Current beta is 4.2.33.9 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Re: 5.0.0.99
So glad to see development being pushed out to us Beta users again. I've noticed an inconsistency with the way messages are displayed. In the Folder View Mode I've got "Expand All Threads" and "Group By Date" selected in the view mode. However sometimes when I move to another folder and then back they will not be expanded. Then at other times they will be expanded. THanks, Art On 11/9/2010, 1:11 PM, Maxim Masiutin wrote in > We are releasing the first alpha version to TBBETA list.
