dandrader:
It's been a useful quirk of Android input until now that multi-touch gestures 
get separate events for each finger, but I think we all need to ensure our 
client code does not assume that's always true.

It wasn't a design choice of Mir's, but just something we inherited from
Android. There's a good argument that Mir's semantics should not change,
because it annoys people obviously. On the other hand it would be
difficult to keep all the quirks of Android input in the transition to
libinput. And I think the semantics of receiving a single event where
two fingers go down at once is perfectly valid. We should all be writing
client code that expects that might happen.

Roll to zoom a photo stops working
  - Gallery: open a photo and pinch to zoom doesn't work
  - Webbrowser: pinch to zoom on a web page not working

This should only happen when calling with --no-act, i. e. when being
called as "ifquery", as I don't think we regularly call ifup with --no-
act. It's also in the "if (cmds == iface_query)" code path.

When trying to recreate this on my amd64 laptop, gdb shows that
current_state gets initialized to NULL. However, the crashes on
errors.ubuntu.com are all on armhf, where the local stack variable
apparently just happens to be non-zero. I can force this behaviour by
changing the initialization to

char *current_state = (char*) 1;

then

 sudo rm /run/network/ifstate.lo
 $ ./ifquery lo

crashes in this manner.

So the solution is rather simple -- initialize current_state.

This stack trace pinpoints the particular strncpy() call in
do_interface:

   if (current_state != NULL) {
strncpy(liface, current_state, 80);

liface is correct ("lo"), but current_state is bogus (0x1). We see that
lock_interface() failed as lock == NULL, but lock isn't being tested
after calling lock_interface(). Hence "current_state" never actually
gets initialized. The obvious exit path in lock_interface() is

i. e. this happens if the interface is locked.

  just realize that fonts-noto-cjk is available in the repository, finally its 
packaged.
  i don't really know about korean community.
  But for Chinese and Japanese community, i think that the answer is clear.
  noto-cjk is definitely better what we had before, like fonts- wqy and 
fonts-droid.
  Android community had received these complains for years, finally they got 
them fixed on lollipop.
  Fedora also set it as default chinese font start from F21.
  and of course, i still hope that ubuntu could drop those 69-language-selector 
fontconfig files, just like what F13 did.

  Checking for updates ... is shown and I see one of 3 results

  In all cases the log reports:

Title:
Refresh change colours

Bug description:
I had experienced few times that refreshing window causes some places to lose
right information about colour. I mean that colours change to different for
e.g. grey become yellowish, and strips are visible. Also in web browser some
letters disappear.
It is happening not often, maybe about 2/3 times per month. I am using Ubuntu
14.04, with following Hardware:
Intel core I5 540M 2.53 GHz x 2 with Intel Ironlake Mobile graphics. System
Is 64 bit version. 3,7GiB Ram.
I'm using two screens with different size. First one is built-in laptop
screen with resolution 1366x768 (16:9) and second one is Hitachi 22HXJ06U with
resolution 1920x1080 (16:9). This happened to me also in Ubuntu 15.04, and
before on Ubuntu 14.10. (In all cases the same hardware and two screens). Until
now I notice this bug only when on firefox so I thought it could be something
wrong with firefox, but today I noticed this bug on Terminal Window. I cannot
really provide information how to create this bug - twice it happened on
facebook when board automatically refreshed, and today it happened on Terminal
when I clicked on firefox. I tried to repeat the problem with terminal, using
the same commands but without positive results. Bug is fixing when window /
application getting refreshed - scrolling up / down or moving window on screen
fixing it. Creating Screenshot doesn't fixing it (done by default Print Screen
with animation that everything becoming white and going to normal imag
e)
I also checked logs (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) but I dont see any error message or
something - log finishing after screen setting up.
I attached picture with example in firefox window (screenshots was bit edited
- facebook's board, chat and chat list been deleted).

Bug description:
  Nested servers do not have the information required to deduce which
  platform has been selected by the host server. (The host may be a
  different user with different permissions, with different environment
  variables and different command-line options.)

  Original scenario:

  $ sudo bin/mir_demo_server --window-manager system-compositor 
--display-config sidebyside --vt 1 --arw-file
  $ bin/mir_demo_server --host /tmp/mir_socket --display-config clone
  ...
  [1447325929.742637] mirserver: Selected driver: dummy (version 0.18.0)

  Seems to be -c 3098 as specifying a dummy --vt parameter is a
  workaround

I'm also noticing that trying to delete multiple keys at once does only
delete the first key while I would either expect an error message or
that all keys get deleted.

  I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 dev with apt 1.1.3 and if I'm deleting a key
  with "apt-key del" which does not exist "OK" is being shown and 0 is
  returned while I would expect an error message to be shown and another
  value than 0 being returned. Here is an example how it currently
  looks:

  root@ubuntu:~# apt-key del does_not_exist
  OK
  root@ubuntu:~# echo $?
  0

  N7 freeze/ui lockup on hdmi hotplug when puritine apps open

Bug description:
  OK, so after quite a a bit of testing in series on the N7 and N4 consisting 
of many plug/unplug events to determine stability
  ~10x plug/unplug with just dash open on both - both devices survived fine.
  ~10x plug/unplug with several ubuntu apps open (dash, browser, scancode, 
message app, clock, pathwind, music, system settings) - both devices survived 
fine

  on N7 while connected, i would open up all the ubuntu apps above, then
  launching a puritine app (ff or lo), ui remained usable, then on
  unplug it would freeze - either with the "you are connected to a
  display" or the ui would refresh on the device screen, but always the
  ui was completely frozen, the power button didn't work either, i did
  connect to shell and run top...i would see services runnning ok, for
  instance ff & proot consuming like 45% cpu each. There were no crash
  files..but the ui would not respond in any way to touch/mouse input. I
  was able to replicate this 3x in a row.

  on N4, I followed roughly the same steps - open ubuntu apps, then
  puritine, i even opened all the puritine apps at once. I was able to
  hotplug 20x just fine, no reboots required, no freeze etc.

  subsequently i tried N7 once more, just having the Dash open and then
  launching FF, it survived one plug+unplug+plug...i let sit for some
  moments, i then mouse to move the ff window (i think it began to
  resize as i missed the target) and in an instant froze, hdmi remote
  screen went black and the device screen maintained the "you are
  connected to a monitor" billboard - unplugging, the billboard just
  remained. Feels like a potential memory issuescould it be that the
  n4 kernel is tuned better, n7 is more sensitive ?

  hard to tell if this may effect other devices similar to N7

I think the emulator is correct, albeit weird. Qemu provides a tablet
virtual device (so you don't get two mouse pointers and can enter/leave
the VM window freely), and it works well with Ubuntu and Windows. And it
sounds like it worked well with Mir till recently.

The solution is not to modify the emulator, because the emulator is
correctly designed to emulate a tablet. Much like that of a stylus-based
tablet where the mouse cursor does follow your hovers if you're close
enough, or you can jump to a new location. This is a mature established
feature of Qemu that's been there for many years. So let's just fix
Mir/libinput.

Bug description:
  STEPS:
  1. Flash with sudo ubuntu-emulator create --channel ubuntu-touch/rc/ubuntu 
rc-test
  2. Wait for it to build
  3. Run with ubuntu-emulator run rc-test
  4. Starts up but the mouse never moves meaning you can't leave the first page 
of the welcome wizard

  EXPECTED:
  I expect the emulator cursor to follow the mouse cursor and be able to click 
on things

  ACTUAL:
  Emulator cursors stay in the top left preventing movement.

  As noted below F6 toggles the input mode.
  The pointer movement is quite slow and jerky.
  You also can no longer initiate an edge swipe even in trackball mode.

  This is a major regression from how the emulator used to perform.
