It just occurred to me that all three features (bookmarks, plug-ins & tabs) probably use some form of table or array to store the pointers and/or descriptive links. [Bug 213528] Re: bookmarks copies home page over and over
Tested suggestions re plug-ins and number of bookmarks. Plug-ins: No effect from disabling plug-ins on either Ubuntu or Windows XP (machine is now re-configured dual boot with seperate hard disks) Number of bookmarks: More interesting results. On Ubuntu: Starting from clean re-install of Firefox, Bookmarks worked as advertised with defaults. Added bookmarks as Sergio did until fault appeared. Another complete removal and re-install, repeat the test & a DIFFERENT number of the same bookmarks could be added before the fault occured. Repeated that process & got a different number of the same bookmarks added! On XP: Un-installed & re-installed, with defaults only appeared OK. Added bookmarks and fault appeared immediately with only a few added. I would add that I have done clean re-installs of Firefox on Ubuntu previously simply to get greater stability from it when several tabs have been open (without any improvement!!). I'm getting the feeling that there is an underlying problem in the design and these are only symptoms. -- bookmarks copies home page over and over https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213528 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I am pleased to report that this works for IBM xSeries eserver 325 also. Wouldn't it be enough to just make these modules autoload?\ The proper fix for the script if you want it to work as originally designed is "modprobe ipmi_kcs_drv || modprobe ipmi_si" but... who cares? seems like a distribution will know which modules are included. So rather than a symbolic link in the path, I have an alias: alias olive-gtk='PYTHONPATH=/home/Checkouts/Bazaar/Bazaar_Mainline /home/users/russel/.bazaar/plugins/gtk/olive-gtk' This seems to do the trick. When I start Olive-GTK in a directory the "File|Make directory" menu item is now greyed out. This means you can only initialize to create a new directory. So doing initialize in an empty directory, the .bzr directory appears. The "File|Make directory" is still greyed out and there is no "File|Make file" entry. If I "right click" (*) on the listing pane, I get the following on the terminal: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/users/russel/.bazaar/plugins/gtk/olive/__init__.py", line 847, in on_treeview_right_button_press_event from menu import OliveMenu File "/home/users/russel/.bazaar/plugins/gtk/olive/menu.py", line 33, in from bzrlib.plugins.gtk import _i18n, launch ImportError: cannot import name launch (*) The problem here is that I regularly change from right-handed to left-handed mouse and indeed regularly use a right-handed mouse with left handed and vice versa. I think there needs to be a way of describing all these three-button mouse things without the assumption of right-handedness. I guess though all the labelling is too deeply ingrained in the system? -- Add of new file from context menu fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/244025 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 145282] Re: metacity crashed with SIGSEGV in g_list_length()
[Sorry, I asked this upstream and the reporter clearly didn't get the message.] This is going to be a tough one to track down if we can't reproduce it. Can you reproduce this bug? What were you actually doing, not moving windows around or switching between windows or anything? Were you just typing away, or were you not touching the computer at all? FWIW, the call to g_list_length here is pretty useless except if you have logging on. We should probably remove it unless you do, and save a few cycles. On the other hand, it wouldn't fix this crash, since it's not *really* a problem with g_list_length but with the rectangle list containing a pointer outside the segment. We can't tell what that rectangle list was, since that depends on what called do_screen_and_xinerama_relative_constraints(), and that information's been optimised away. Unless we can find out more, we're going to have to close this for lack of information. -- metacity crashed with SIGSEGV in g_list_length() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/145282 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 190515] Re: [Hardy] Low bandwidth with rt2400 / rt2500 drivers
With Ubuntu kernel 2.6.24.18-generic, I was able to get my RT2500 to work full speed by using the rt2500-cvs-2008060319 driver. On a different machine using Ubuntu kernel 2.6.24.19-generic and the same RT2500 card, I had no choice, but to resort to using the winxp driver under ndiswrapper. So far(about 1hr), ndiswrapper seems to be working great for the second machine. I'll give that machine at least a week, before I actually declare it as WORKING. My past experience with ndiswrapper has produced many failures on some machines after 1 week. I know, weird, but welcome to my life. The first machine with the cvs driver has been working fullspeed for a good 3 weeks now. But I'll be updating the kernel to latest in the repos tonight, so I expect I'll probably have some issues with it of course. Man what a bummer, As far back as breezy, I never had to do any more than punch in the ssid for my RT2500. But then hardy came along. @Ian It has puzzled me, too. Perhaps the maintainer missed the part where the callbacks break, and thinks that the only trouble is that it is printing out the warning? [Bug 235560] Re: Connect to smb server by name doesn't work, but by IP address does
Please forgive me if this is incorrect, but I want to see if this information helps others better troubleshoot this issue. While researching the issue for my similar bug report, I found that having a DNS server that responds to otherwise invalid host entries (i.e. OpenDNS) may contribute. Removing all DNS servers from my network configuration seems to allow browsing the shares, but I'm still affected by other issues. [Bug 235135] Re: [MASTER] Please backport flashplugin-nonfree version 10 beta and asound-plugins from Intrepid so we can drop libflashsupport and the crashes it causes
Ok, this is just a mess. 32-bit users normally don't see crashes with libflashsupport installed (but some do). 64-bit users will see crashes. We need to rip out libflashsupport from intrepid's archive (source+binary) and remove it from intrepid's flashplugin-nonfree's suggests. Wait, it gets better. Doing the above will resolve Flash-related crashers for people using PulseAudio with Flash, but it does absolutely nothing for people who want to use PulseAudio with Flash. (I don't want to ask how certain people got libflashsupport installed, but...) Remember that alsa-libs and alsa-plugins need to be backported, too, and until the entire ALSA+PulseAudio stack is upgraded to its intrepid counterpart, those users are still screwed. In other words, PulseAudio users gain nothing with this backport until alsa-lib and alsa-plugins are also backported so that libflashsupport can be removed. ALSA users should ensure they don't have an /etc/asound.conf or ~/.asoundrc, as using overridden definitions vastly complicates the error paths. And, of course, they shouldn't have libflashsupport installed. 64-bit users need to ensure nspluginwrapper and lib32asound2 remain installed. -- [MASTER] Please backport flashplugin-nonfree version 10 beta and asound-plugins from Intrepid so we can drop libflashsupport and the crashes it causes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/235135 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
