Right click on the main web page and select "Save As..." 3). Save the web page somewhere on the local drive. On Ubuntu there is an option in the save dialog specifying how to save the web page. Make sure that "Web page, complete" is selected. 4). Navigate to the location where the web page was stored and attempt to load the saved page back into firefox At this point the web page that is loaded from the hard disk should display very differently than the real web page. Styles and elements of the original web page should be missing. I also tested this same process on Windows XP SP2 (using firefox 3.0.8) and I see the exact same behavior. This seems to eliminate the problem being caused by local browser settings (since I see the same thing under Windows and Linux on two separate machines with totally different preferences). Furthermore I was able to run steps 1 - 4 using Opera 9.64 and this produces a saved web page that displays identically to the web page navigated to on the internet. ...Additionally I just tried loading the webpage saved locally using opera and this loads into firefox correctly. [Bug 456902] Re: [i845G] Karmic stops responding a few minutes after log in
I have a kernel patch for people to try. It works around the x11perf freeze, and I'm curious if it prevents random freezing as well. Kernels with this patch, for both Karmic and Lucid, are available in a separate PPA of mine, graphics-fixes: https://launchpad.net/~brian-rogers/+archive/graphics-fixes When you add this PPA and reload, a new kernel version will be available, linux-image-2.6.31-50-generic for Karmic or linux- image-2.6.32-50-generic for Lucid. It won't be an update to an existing kernel, so you'll have to pick it and install it manually. Testing will be most interesting without the packages from graphics-testing, so run this command to remove that: sudo ppa-purge ppa:brian-rogers/graphics-testing Note that the patch in this new kernel is a workaround and may impair performance in certain specific scenarios. But it will be useful in figuring out whether the random freeze and the x11perf freeze are related. -- [i845G] Karmic stops responding a few minutes after log in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/456902 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sorry for the confusion. This is not a bug in either gnome-keyring or network manager. I had started using transmission recently , and since it was among my startup [auto-launch] apps, transmission would start fast and begin using the bandwidth _completely_ , not allowing any other app to gain access to the network. Once i removed transmission from the startup items , this problem was solved. ** Changed in: gnome-keyring (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- Slow to release wireless lock in auto-login sessions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/526898 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 529337] [NEW] Hangs for a long time when editing labels on large files
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: audacity How to trigger this bug: 1) Create a fairly long audio file (in this case 45 minutes) 2) Create a label track with a bunch of long labels in it (i.e. transcriptions) 3) Try to edit the text in one of the labels, preferably the first one Audacity will freeze for quite a long time. Actually label editing has a bunch of problems but this one is particularly bad... It turns out that the code that's responsible is the "experimental lyrics window", which can be shown when you choose "Karaoke..." from the View menu. You can easily disable this "feature" by commending out the EXPERIMENTAL_LYRICS_WINDOW line in src/Experimental.h, which makes it possible to edit label texts.
