Re: [Bug 742582] Re: Add touch gesture events
I just caught up with the thread in this bug. Scott, you're right, Duncan was out of line to phrase the request the way he did. I had reminded the touch and Unity teams the set of gestures they were supposed to support and deliver, and that required the API / ABI change. The only consumer of those API's is Unity, and the gestures are essential for the usability of the interface with multi-touch pads. So, since the regression risk was tightly contained, it seemed a reasonable ask. [Bug 745608] Re: font corruption on Intel GMA900
Hi Bryce, 1. Can't remember first occurrence. I'm sure that I saw it in Maverick, may be in Lucid. Second screenshot made in Maverick. 2. It happening few times at week. I can surf web with firefox or opening console, nothing unusual. 3. I'll switch to "no effects" mode to find it out. 4. I don't think so. Using only default themes and fonts. You can find that another font affected on second attached screenshot (monospace font on console) . Also I saw thin grey (transparent?) streak on maximize button yesterday and same streak on close button while writing this reply. Can' take screenshot because changing focus to gnome-screenshot cause to change button color and streak disappear. Thanks for attention! ** Attachment added: "shot_lucid.jpg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/745608/+attachment/1967289/+files/shot_lucid.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/745608 Title: font corruption on Intel GMA900 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

My house has standard CAB5 ethernet cables and we connect to a hub to a router and then via dsl to the internet. these connections are hardcoded, i do not use dhcp. the connections to the internet are to two ISP where I (resp. my customers) have my/their webspace. these are the most prominent isp in germany 1&1 and strato. [Bug 629580] Re: Linux kernel in Ubuntu 10.04 has different disk order than grub2/BIOS
Is there a possibility to run natty's grub2 straight from live cd? Right now, I don't have a spare partition to install 11.04 beta (I checked disk order in live Ubuntu 11.04 and it's the same as in my current 10.10). Can I maybe just install natty's grub2 on my system somehow, to check it's disk order? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/629580 Title: Linux kernel in Ubuntu 10.04 has different disk order than grub2/BIOS -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 748026] [NEW] remove twitter-glib from natty
Public bug reported: The twitter-glib package was synced from Debian, where it's no longer available in any release. [Bug 748027] [NEW] gnome-system-log: cannot read when scrolled-back
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-utils I am trying to read earlier entries in the kern.log or the syslog so I use the scroll bar on the text view to attempt to scroll back but I am constantly thwarted by gnome-system-log scrolling to the tail of the file because a new line was added to the log. gnome-system-log does this even WHILE I am dragging the scroll elevator up attempting to view earlier entries in the log! I appreciate the value of automatically scrolling to the tail of the log when a new entry is added. But doing so when the user is attempting to scroll back to read earlier entries is thwarting the user's use of the scroll bar. I suggest that if the user has scrolled back to view earlier entries in the log, gnome-system-log should suspend it's "scroll to tail when new entries added" behavior until the user has scrolled to the end of the log again. Public bug reported: My quad core i5 iMac becomes unusably slow after resuming from suspend. One process will take 100% of a CPU (and nothing will run on the other cores). [Bug 731481] Re: second window does not open CTRL-T
Thanks Bernhard, No sftp is a different protocol than Samba. Samba connects to Windows shared folder. But both rely on the network. I've been struggling to reproduce the problem, now I will try with sftp. I'm starting to think we're seeing network issues. A dropped or corrupted packet could be causing the hang up. I think a much better action would be for the system to report the error or better yet retry it a few times. So the problem is how do we prove it or find a way to repeat it. Tell me about your network. Are you on a wireless or wired connection between the system that hangs and the one with the files? How reliable is it? What kind of through put are you getting? Are you connecting to a system on your local network or over the Internet? Perhaps we could get it to happen and then to a ping for a few minutes and see if any packets are lost. I'll see if I can find a network testing tool that simulates an unreliable network.
