[Bug 817749] Re: josm is in the wrong category in the Software Centre

2011-08-24 Thread Jacob Johan Edwards
Hello there,

The Software Center pulls this metadata from `josm` package itself and
includes it in `app-install-data-ubuntu`. To fix this issue, correct the
following line in "josm.desktop" in the `josm` deb.

 > Categories=Education;Geography;

This change will land in USC the next time we rebuild `app-install-data-
ubuntu`.

[Bug 829696] Re: Upgrading to version 1.52.1 breaks broadcom b43 driver

2011-08-24 Thread Joshua Kugler
Sigh...the problem must lie somewhere else. While my fix the other day
did coincide with reinstalling the old firmware package, the problem
surfaced again today, out of nowhere, even surviving multiple reboots.
I then installed 1.52.1. No change. I then kill the pulse audio daemon
(which you would think would have happened during reboots). The network
card IMMEDIATELY started working. So very weird. So, there is a glitch
somewhere, but it's not in linux-firmware 1.52.1

[Bug 833168] Re: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) Display garblde when connecting external display

2011-08-24 Thread Dmitry Kasatkin
I have also problems with 2.6.38-11-generic-pae with external monitor
via HDMI on my DELL E6120 laptop.

It has following display adapter:
--
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core
Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA
controller])
Subsystem: Dell Device 0493
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 42
Memory at e140 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4M]
Memory at d000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M]
I/O ports at 4000 [size=64]
Expansion ROM at [disabled]
Capabilities:
Kernel driver in use: i915
Kernel modules: i915

Step leading to the problem:
1. Boot laptop normally with HDMI monitor connected - HDMI monitor goes on
2. Login to the Gnome - HDMI monitor is still on
3. Now I try to switch primary display to hdmi monitor with xrandr:
xrandr --output HDMI1 --left-of LVDS1 --auto --primary

With older kernels everything goes fine.
But with 2.6.38-11-generic-pae it shuts monitor...
It goes to standby mode and says that no signal...

[Bug 833540] Re: Sync gst-qa-system 0.0+git20110823.aa63792f-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2011-08-24 Thread Ying-Chun Liu
I'm sorry that I might be too late for sync this package because we just got the
latest version yesterday.
The reason is we need this new version for Linaro LAVA-test for Gstreamer.

Please sync this package if it is still not too late.

Many Thanks,
Paul Liu

[Bug 48671] Re: Cannot rename by clicking on a file

2011-08-24 Thread Rainer Rohde
I totally agree! I would love to have the "single click to rename"
option in nautilus. I am on a laptop, and in order to rename using the
F2 key I have to press Fn+F2, which is more finger acrobatic than I want
it to be.

I like it how it is done in Windows: you click a tad longer than simply
selecting a file and it goes into rename mode. Let's see if this can be
implemented in Nautilus, too.

[Bug 833541] [NEW] package mysql-cluster-server-5.1 7.1.9a-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 1

2011-08-24 Thread Andrew McGillis
Public bug reported:

on initial install of package, system hung. closed the terminal window,
opened a new one. ran sudo apt-get update. Got a message saying I
should run dpkg --configure -a, which I did.. mysql-cluster-server
failed to install due to password conflict from previous install
attempt. at end of command, I figured I'd remove, then re-install the
package from scratch. part way through package removal, I got a crash

[Bug 818729] Re: [Oneiric] apport-gtk expected enumeration type GtkWindowType, but got GtkMessageType instead

2011-08-24 Thread Martin Pitt
apport (1.21.3-0ubuntu1) oneiric; urgency=low

  * New upstream bug fix release. Changes since our previous snapshot:
- Add apport.packaging.get_library_paths() interface and implement it for
backends/packaging-apt-dpkg.py using dpkg multiarch directories. Use it
in chroot.py. This unbreaks apport-chroot for oneiric.
- hookutils.py: Don't attach empty values. Thanks Bryce Harrington.
  (LP: #813798)
- apport-gtk: Correctly pass message dialog type.
- apport-gtk: Fix GLib and GObject imports to be compatible with the future
  pygobject 3.0.
- hookutils.py, attach_alsa(): Get a list of outputs/inputs that PulseAudio
knows about, which also shows the currently selected output/input, as well
as volumes. This should help with "no sound" bug troubleshooting. Thanks
  Luke Yelavich.
  * data/general-hooks/ubuntu.py: Fix crash if report doesn't have a Package
field (caught by test suite).
  * data/general-hooks/ubuntu.py: Fix crash if report doesn't have a
DpkgTerminalLog field (caught by test suite).

[Bug 569792] Re: wish, alternative available for apport-bug

2011-08-24 Thread Martin Pitt
I don't quite like this idea. If you manually configure an alternative,
and then the selected frontend isn't available (no $DISPLAY set, or you
removed a desktop environment, etc), it wouldn't work at all any more.
If you really want to run the GTK variant under KDE or vice versa, you
can run it directly with e.g . /usr/share/apport/apport-gtk. But as this
isn't a common case, I rather keep the dynamic selection.
