[Bug 1154006] Re: 12.04 freezes many times daily
Yesterday i had another freeze after more than two weeks without any freezes at all (after setting Windows animations off in Unity). I was watching a long youtube video using Chrome with the flash-plugin which has proven to be unstable and causing freezes in the past... Maybe there are multiple causes for these freezes? "I have a legacy system which proves stable under Windows. Asus MB, 2GB ram, Core2Duo, nVidia geforce 7600GT" I'm also using Asus motherboard, Intel core2 quad cpu, nVidia 9600GT, 8GB RAM. [Bug 1179781] [NEW] If-Modfied-Since undhandled case causes apt lists corruption with https repositories

[Bug 1179727] Re: [regression] [raring] Panel shadow is visible over fullscreen apps
Raised to High. Because with Unredirection turned off (like it always is for nouveau), the bug is always visible. ** Description changed: [regression] [raring] Panel shadow is visible over fullscreen apps This regression only appeared in raring this past month or two. This regression is driving me nuts. Mostly because the bug did not exist a couple of months ago. [Bug 950413] Re: Bluetooth connections stalling with some Broadcom cards from year 2005
And yes, the issue I could see while sniffing packets is that for some reason the card in the linux configuration does not generate the HCI_EV_NUM_COMP_PKTS when it should, nor anything in place of that (the dump's just silent). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/950413 Title: Bluetooth connections stalling with some Broadcom cards from year 2005 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/950413/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 950413] Re: Bluetooth connections stalling with some Broadcom cards from year 2005
ukungfu, Some time ago I remember I tried to workaround this, l2ping did work but the connection was not reliable at all, since the card could not signal if its buffer was empty, so the driver would continue sending tx packets continuously even with the tx buffer full. At the moment I cannot find the testing tree I was using at the time, so I can't tell more for now... After testing in an WinXP virtual machine and sniffing the USB traffic as in comment #11, I could conclude that the problem is not in the bluetooth stack but in the method/init parameters/something like that the btusb driver and/or the usb driver use to initialize the usb communication with the bluetooth card. The only sensible difference between the WinXP dump and the btusb dump was the maximum size of the usb packets sent and received on the wire. I also tried to manually replace the btusb initialization messages with the sniffed ones from WinXP, and it did not work. (P.s. As a quick fix I'd suggest you to buy or borrow a $10 CSR dongle as I've done when I was in a hurry and needed bluetooth on this pc some time ago, this fixed the problem very well. ;) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/950413 Title: Bluetooth connections stalling with some Broadcom cards from year 2005 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/950413/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1163587] Re: mtrr_cleanup: can not find optimal value, perhaps no longer needed?
Is there a good way to identify a machine that is helped by having this on? I'm curious as to what kind of hardware requires mtrr_cleanup to perform well. The 128 GB RAM Machine, did result in some RAM lost, but it wasn't significant considering it has 128 GB of RAM (around 128 MB loss if memory serves me). If this improves graphical performance significantly for many machines, it's probably worth the loss for machines with huge amounts of RAM. [Bug 1154006] Re: 12.04 freezes many times daily
After running 12.04 LTS for months I finally gave up. I'm back to windows now. I have exactly the same problem. Totally *random* crashes. No mouse, No keyboard, No ssh. Nothing at all. But in my case after a while (about 15-30 seconds) it will reboots itself. I have tried kernel 3.2.x all the way to 3.6.x. Now I'm using 3.5.0-25 which seems to a bit better, but still freezes. But sadly I have been back to windows for 3 months now. Freezes happens randomly, but many times (not always) it happens after I plays some videos or mp3. Sometimes it happens while the computer is idling (just my firefox running). I have a legacy system which proves stable under Windows. Asus MB, 2GB ram, Core2Duo, nVidia geforce 7600GT. I'm not running Unity. I use gnome classic. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1154006 Title: 12.04 freezes many times daily To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1154006/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1179755] [NEW] libreoffice hangs in splash screen, javaldx could be affected too
Public bug reported: This is happening to me for the first time in Kubuntu 13.04. However in a laptop with the same distro version LibreOffice is working fine. A package that seems related to this issue is javaldx, because when I try to open any libreoffice instance, such package stays in memory and seems to do nothing. Another oddity in my case is that the progress bar doesn't show at all. The strange thing is that LibreOffice doesn't crash, it just displays the splash screen silently as long as I wish, until I kill the process. In my ~/.config/libreoffice directory it made another profile: before there was a directory named 3 and now it makes another directory named 4. If I delete the directory 4 libreoffice recreates it, with just a single file in it named javasettings_Linux_x86.xml located in ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/config That happens every time I try to open libreoffice again. In my ~/.libreoffice directory there is also a directory named 3. I started an instance from the CLI too, but LibreOffice doesn't show any output, even when I kill the process. I've tried reinstalling LibreOffice again from the offical repo, through a *tar.gz file from libreoffice.org, through the PPA, and nothing until now. I've tried too moving the ~/.config/libreoffice and ~/.libreoffice to new locations to no avail. In this moment I have installed the official repo LibreOffice suite. I found a similar behavior in Askubuntu.com, where people are reporting this problem too: http://askubuntu.com/questions/287953/libreoffice- crashes-or-hangs-12-10-and-13-04 and http://askubuntu.com/questions/285772/how-do-i-install-libreoffice-4-0-2 I appreciate any help given about this subject, Best regards, -Andrey ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: libreoffice 1:4.0.2-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-19.30-generic 3.8.8 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-19-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu8 Architecture: i386 Date: Mon May 13 19:20:50 2013 InstallationDate: Installed on 2010-04-30 (1109 days ago) InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100427) MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=es:en_US:de:ja:en PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=es_CR.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: libreoffice UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to raring on 2013-04-26 (17 days ago) ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 raring third-party-packages -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1179755 Title: libreoffice hangs in splash screen, javaldx could be affected too To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1179755/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
