[Bug 1250003] bug 1250003: Failure to install Post fix
Very many thanks for reply. Herewith screenshot of the result. Your remedy was successful. And I learned a command that may well be of great value in future Please note that when I successfully reconfigured Postfix, I had little idea of what information to supply to answer the questions but I will study the manuals etc. in my own time and edit as appropriate. For info, currently I read and write emails from the website/Firefox so there is no panic. As regards what happened previously, I got the first screen but there was no way to make a selection or to press OK. [Bug 1250922] Re: dhclient: No DHCPOFFERS received
Thank you for taking the time to file this report and helping to make Ubuntu better. I appreciate the problem you're facing, but it isn't clear to me that this is a bug, and you haven't provided enough information to pin anything down. At the moment it seems that you're still investigating, and I don't think you're likely to get much assistance with this on this bug tracker. https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/isc-dhcp will show you recent updates to the DHCP client. You may also want to consider any kernel updates you recently applied, in case there has been a regression in your NIC driver. If you think there has been a regression in an update, then you should pin down the version that caused the regression by examining your update logs and trying downgrades appropriately. You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community. This should help get your questions about debugging your problem to a wider audience. Marking this bug as Incomplete, to reflect that this bug cannot make progress without further information. ** Package changed: dhcp3 (Ubuntu) = isc-dhcp (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: isc-dhcp (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to dhcp3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1250922 Title: dhclient: No DHCPOFFERS received To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/isc-dhcp/+bug/1250922/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1250398] Re: Cloudstack userdata not working with 0.7.3-0ubuntu2
Hi, The culprit is the upgrade of boto from 2.3.0 in 13.04 to 2.9.6 in 13.10. To fetch userdata, cloud-init relies on a utility function from boto.utils, the URL building method has changed in boto and now includes a trailing slash. I've reported the bug upstream, but manually constructing the cloudstack user-data URL in DataSourceCloudStack in cloud-init would also be worthwhile, since changes in the way EC2 behaves would not impact cloudstack deployments. The upstream issue in boto is registered at: https://github.com/boto/boto/pull/1856 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to cloud-init in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1250398 Title: Cloudstack userdata not working with 0.7.3-0ubuntu2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-init/+bug/1250398/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1247723] Re: [Samsung NP900X3C-A02US] Lid state changes not detected
Սահակ, to maintain a respectful atmosphere, please follow the code of conduct - http://www.ubuntu.com/project/about-ubuntu/conduct . Bug reports are handled by humans, the majority of whom are volunteers, so please bear this in mind. With this in mind, as skilled developers know, the purpose of a regression test is to find out if this is simply a matter of reversing a commit, build on the foundation of the regression commit, or this has happened as far back as one could test (typically Lucid). This type of information is vital to a developer in diagnosing and fixing the issue. As well, I've seen regressions go unfixed as back as far as Jaunty/9.04, going into current kernel releases. Hence, presuming asking for a regression test is unreasonable is counter productive to getting a bug solved. Regarding usb-creator-gtk crashing, this is a known issue - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usb-creator/+bug/915626 . A WORKAROUND to burning an ISO to USB is: sudo dd if=custom-backup.iso of=/dev/sdb ibs=10M obs=20M where the following is replaced by your ISO name: custom-backup.iso and the following is replaced with your USB drive location: /dev/sdb ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1247723 Title: [Samsung NP900X3C-A02US] Lid state changes not detected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1247723/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1198664] Re: resume fails with Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Win7. No error info. Result Code: NS_ERROR_CALL_FAILED (0x800706BE) Component: ProgressProxy Interface: IProgress {
I have this problem on my new Ubuntu 13.10 install. No problems before on 12.04. Both with Unity. A few days ago I found in a thread somewhere else (VirtualBox forums? Forgot to bookmark and can't find it now ...) that this only happens when the VM is stopped by closing the VM window by keyboard shortcut (Alt-F4 or Ctrl-Q). Close the window by clicking the (x) or using the window menu, and the VM will resume successfully. Still annoying as heck, because I /always/ close Windows with ctrl-q and can't get used to do it the other way.
[Bug 1164557] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad R60] Laptop to hot - VID to high
Hi, this is not easy to answer. As I start with Ubuntu 10.x on my laptop I got hot problems at load. I start then to add some packages (I not rember more which one) an dthe problem disapears! I have done an update to the second 10.x and I don't have any problem. After updating to Precise first I see no problem, but short after I occurs. This is because in normal usage, like internet writng viewing, I got no problems. When I start cpu load activity like a lot of graphics or video work the laptop overheads an hangup. I tried to figure out if I have done some mistake, like wrong governor packages i.e. Also google gave no solution. One interestin point is: I use the package thinkfan. I have it customized just after starting the overheating problems at the beginning. After updating to Precise I found that thinkfan was configured to use the fan in the level 0-7. Which means max 3900 fan speed. So I found using google that there is a fan level disengaded (which brings an fan speed 5800. I activate this under precis for the first time. But this don't help to prevent overheading. At 68°C cpu temp run my fan with 5800 revolution, what he have never done before Precise. This seems to be a serious and useable Linux problem: I often get computer hangups if I use different Linux live system on many computers to do a offline backup. When I then run parallel partimage tasks for different disks those computers hang. I guess overheating. Running the partimage for the disks in serial get no problem. To circumvent my problem I have writen a pearl script which monitors the cpu temp every 10s and switch to governor powersave at 82°C and back to conserative at 73°C. Hope this explains in dead what happens regards Rainer -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1164557 Title: [Lenovo ThinkPad R60] Laptop to hot - VID to high To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1164557/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1251165] [NEW] Boot-up typically opens to blank gray greeter screen
Public bug reported: ...But not always. Sometimes the boot-up gets to a normal greeter screen. Often as not, though, I get a blank gray greeter screen. I can type my password blindly and get in to the GDM, usually. But sometimes I can't -- because I can't see the underlying screens and have to guess what field I'm typing into, etc. I can go to a console via Ctr+{[1-6]} and restart the GDM and then the greeter screen is normal and I can log in normally. Also, between screen modes at boot-up and on entering the GDM, there is ugly flickering and screen garbage that lasts a good second or so. /d ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu6 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-13.20-generic 3.11.6 Uname: Linux 3.11.0-13-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.12.5-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: None Date: Thu Nov 14 10:19:27 2013 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: saucy DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: vboxhost, 4.3.2, 3.11.0-12-generic, x86_64: installed vboxhost, 4.3.2, 3.11.0-13-generic, x86_64: installed ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, if not too technical GraphicsCard: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [Bug 1244941] Re: Mousewheel scrolling does not work
The bug is still applying to me - should the update have fixed this ? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/oxygen-gtk3/+bug/1246676 - my bug, a duplicate of this bug.. I am running gtk3-engines-oxygen:amd64 - 1.2.0-0ubuntu1.1 And I still cannot use the mouse wheel in evolution if I create a new message . The scroll wheel works on the main screen just not on new messages. If I change to any other theme the issue is not there. [Bug 1250534] Re: Linker option -Wl,-Bsymbolic-functions
** Description changed: Hello Ubuntu team, I am a user of the libtango8 package available in Ubuntu repository. Since Ubuntu 13.10, this library is built with the option -Wl,-Bsymbolic-functions. This generates problems for this software. In previous Ubuntu releases, it was not the case and the software worked nicely. In its source package, in the debian/rules file, there is this line export DEB_LDFLAGS_MAINT_STRIP=-Wl,-Bsymbolic-functions which should prevent the use of this -Wl,-Bsymbolic-functions option when building the package but it seems that it is not true anymore. [Bug 1251178] [NEW] qdbus: could not exec '/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/qt5/bin/qdbus': No such file or directory
