Thank you for the reply. I'm all for consistency and correct use of terms. In this case though, while technically correct, I find Gibibytes a bit ridiculous. [Bug 1307937] Re: hdmi option not detected
did your graphic driver enable audio support ? your Samsung hdmi monitor already provide EDID to the graphic but seem audio is support is not enabled there are two ways to provide hdmi 1) the iec958 control of spdif of alc663 may block the nvidia HDMI codec 2) http://www.realtek.com/products/productsView.aspx?Langid=1PFid=37Level=5Conn=4ProdID=165 The ALC663 provides two independent S/PDIF outputs and supports 16/20/24-bit SPDIF output with a sampling rate of up to 192kHz, offering easy connection of PCs to high quality consumer electronic products such as digital decoders and speakers. In addition to the standard (primary) SPDIF output function, the ALC663 features another independent (secondary) SPDIF-OUT output and converters that transport digital audio output to a High Definition Media Interface (HDMI) transmitter (becoming more common in high-end PCs). if you cannot find nvidia HDMI codec Node 0x10 [Audio Output] wcaps 0x611: Stereo Digital Converter: stream=0, channel=0 Digital: Digital category: 0x0 IEC Coding Type: 0x0 PCM: rates [0x5e0]: 44100 48000 88200 96000 192000 bits [0xe]: 16 20 24 formats [0x1]: PCM Power states: D0 D1 D2 D3 Power: setting=D0, actual=D0 Node 0x11 [Pin Complex] wcaps 0x400701: Stereo Digital Pincap 0x0010: OUT Pin Default 0x41f0: [N/A] Speaker at Ext Rear Conn = 1/8, Color = Black DefAssociation = 0xf, Sequence = 0x0 Misc = NO_PRESENCE Pin-ctls: 0x40: OUT Power states: D0 D1 D2 D3 Power: setting=D0, actual=D0 Connection: 1 0x10 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1307937 Title: hdmi option not detected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1307937/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1304754] Re: gccgo on ppc64el using split stacks when not supported
I've made some progress with these fails. A lot of the confusion is around the way gccgo hooks the SEGV handler and attempts to backtrace all goroutines (the code is in runtime_tracebackothers()) It does this by calling runtime_gogo() which temporarily switches to the goroutine using setcontext(). If the context is bad in any way, this will cause us to SEGV again. I printed out the stack pointer (r1) and the NIA during this stack backtracing, and we see where things go south just as we are about to dump goroutine 0: goroutine 0 [idle]: DEBUG: runtime_gogo r1 0 nia 0 r1 = 0, nia = 0. When we call setcontext on this invalid context we die with: jujud[5258]: bad frame in setup_rt_frame: nip lr Perhaps we aren't saving away the context for goroutine 0 correctly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1304754 Title: gccgo on ppc64el using split stacks when not supported To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gccgo-4.9/+bug/1304754/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

If the context is bad in any way, this will cause us to SEGV again. Hi Anton, I've been looking at another angle via a different crash. I see a crash if a child process gets a signal, which sort of reflects back on the parent. [Bug 1239869] Re: VoiceCallManager.Dial() fails when roaming area code specified
AOSP simply does not handle this: its ril.h it does not define this error code. The error codes come from the codeaurora [1], which is sponsored by Qualcomm and implements Snapdragon optimizations for Android. Cyanogenmod took the code from them, ril.h and parts in the java telephony service that handle this. To be honest, the best solution would be to define a QUALCOMM vendor and check the code just for this, but as mako is our reference platform and is Qualcomm-based, I just made AOSP=QUALCOMM, which also seems to be the approach of Cyanogenmod, as it uses those codes by default. If we need to implement more Qualcomm specific bits in the future we will have to go this path. For instance, Qualcomm also implements multi-sim support (check struct RIL_SelectUiccSub in [1]).
