[Bug 1311886] Re: nsd fails to install
I create the "easy-fix" patch, which rado_p suggested. The step "2. dpkg attempts to start the daemon." is automatically inserted into the line with the word "#DEBHELPER#" by debhelper. http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/trusty/nsd/trusty-proposed/view/head:/debian/nsd.postinst#L4 (For the details, see "Automatic generation of debian install scripts" section of `man debhelper`) I reordered this step to the last, in order to ensure nsd starts after setup is done. unbound package uses the right order as below: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/trusty/unbound/trusty/view/head:/debian/unbound.postinst ** Patch added: "Start nsd after setup is done" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nsd/+bug/1311886/+attachment/4269535/+files/fix-postinst-order.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311886 Title: nsd fails to install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nsd/+bug/1311886/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1381856] Re: [Dell Latitude E5550] Microphone mute key does not work on this system
commit 6676f3081f7e3dae64e05b87d47a041b782f898a Author: Hui Wang Date: Tue Nov 18 17:57:41 2014 +0800 ALSA: hda - fix the mic mute led problem for Latitude E5550 The microphone mute led on the Latitude E5550 can't work. We need to apply DELL_WMI_MIC_MUTE_LED quirk to this machine. The machine uses alc293 codec and already applied the quirk ALC293_FIXUP_DELL1_MIC_NO_PRESENCE through pin_fixup_tbl[]. Here we just let DELL_WMI_MIC_MUTE_LED be chained to ALC269_FIXUP_HEADSET_MODE, then the machine will have these quirks ALC293_FIXUP_DELL1_MIC_NO_PRESENCE--> ALC269_FIXUP_HEADSET_MODE-->ALC255_FIXUP_DELL_WMI_MIC_MUTE_LED. BugLink: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1381856 Reported-and-tested-by: Po-Hsu Lin Signed-off-by: Hui Wang Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai commit 4a83d42ae2041d5b76f1a0662bc3a5a85e4eb0d1 Author: Hui Wang Date: Tue Nov 18 17:57:40 2014 +0800 ALSA: hda - move DELL_WMI_MIC_MUTE_LED to the tail in the quirk chain We have one more Dell machine needs DELL_WMI_MIC_MUTE_LED quirk, but the machine uses alc293 instead of alc255. So if DELL_WMI_MIC_MUTE_LED still chain ALC255_FIXUP_DELL1_MIC_NO_PRESENCE, the machine can't use this quirk. To change this situation, let the DELL_WMI_MIC_MUTE_LED to be a standalone quirk, and let other quirks chain it. After this change, this quirk can be chained to any existing quirks, and as a result, it is possible that this quirk is applied to a non-Dell machine or a Dell machine without mic mute led on it, but it is still safe since alc_fixup_dell_wmi() will return an error in these situations. And remove the quirk for machine with subsystem id 0x6010 and 0x601f, these two machines will fall back to the quirk ALC255_FIXUP_DELL1_MIC_NO_PRESENCE-->ALC255_FIXUP_HEADSET_MODE--> ALC255_FIXUP_DELL_WMI_MIC_MUTE_LED through pin_fixup_tbl[]. [Bug 1207400] Re: Statistics not working
I've also been hit by this issue, I managed to get hamster statistics locally by poking in the file: /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/hamster/stats.py Depending on the hamster version packaged in your distro, the number of the line to change might be different, I had to change line 131 in my installation (I'm on Mint LMDE, hamster .deb version 2.91.3+git20). Change this line (131 on my system) from: if not self.stat_facts or self.stat_facts[-1].start_time.year == self.stat_facts[0].start_time.year: to the simpler version: if not self.stat_facts: That did it for me. Note that I do not know if this change has any detrimental side-effects... [Bug 1396889] [NEW] kexec reboot fails
Public bug reported: After release upgrade to Utopic, when I reboot with kexec (simply with "reboot" command), my computer cold reboots after "Starting new kernel" (i.e. I need to get through the POST and GRUB), instead of the new kernel being loaded. Previously I didn't experience problems with Trusty. It matters which kernel I try to boot, while it doesn't matter what kernel I kexec from, and which version of kexec-tools I have. I can't boot 3.16.0-25, nor 3.18.0-031800rc6 from any installed kernels, while I can boot 3.13.0-39 from any kernels without any problems. I tried to downgrade kexec-tools from 1:2.0.7-1ubuntu2 (utopic) to 1:2.0.6-0ubuntu2.1 (trusty), but it made no difference. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T410. I didn't experience the same on my other machines, so I suspect some hardware-dependent issue. [Bug 1396851] [NEW] Add package containing Unity Greeter badges
Public bug reported: Currently, only a small number of potential desktops have badges shipped with Unity Greeter. Other desktops are supposed to ship their own [1]. However, some desktop packagers would prefer not to do this. For example, the MATE packagers would prefer to keep the packages the same in Debian and Ubuntu, and therefore would like to avoid an Ubuntu- specific patch like adding a Unity Greeter badge [2]. One solution, which would keep these badges both out of the unity- greeter package and out of the various desktop packages, would be to package the badges available at [3] together in a single package. I am an experienced Debian maintainer and plan to create such a package soon. [Bug 1385441] Re: Can't unlock the screen in Ubuntu 14.10
@andrea: what do you mean with gnome-screensaver ? I'm using unity as far as I know I can't change the screensaver. Also I found out that if I go to a terminal (ALT+F1) and kill -9 compiz then when I go back to the X11/Unity I can log correctly. Seems related to compiz getting out of control (as plain kill didn't work). @Gerardo: just use the terminal to kill compiz, then go back to the GUI and you should be able to log. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1385441 Title: Can't unlock the screen in Ubuntu 14.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1385441/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
