[Bug 1028682] Re: precise uec builds eat 100% cpu on launch, check-apt and rsyslogd
Thanks for reporting this. It is quite an old bug now, and probably did not get any attention because it was not assigned to a package. Having said that, I am not sure which is the right package to assign this bug to. Therefore I am assigning it to cloud-init, as I found a similar type of bug where this was done. If it is the wrong package, then hopefully someone looking at cloud-init bugs will have a better idea where to assign it so that it is followed up. Also, as it is so old, perhaps the problem was fixed/went away in the meantime? [Bug 1424215] Re: growisofs BD-R overflow error despite capacity check

K3B using growisofs (besides never burning > correctly), burns at 2X (and reports it as 4X) while keeping the > burner's hardware buffer below 50%. > K3B with drecord keeps is at 97+% all the time while burning. That's all because cdrecord does not automatically format BD-R before writing. (Neither do libburn based programs like xfburn, cdrskin, or xorriso.) You can achieve the same effect with growisofs by option -use-the-force-luke=spare:none In previous versions of K3B there was a menu to set options for backend programs ... "Setup External Programs", "User Parameters". > Basically growisofs is useless for BD-R. Ah no. I am a competitor of growisofs, but would not say that. Actually growisofs has more clue about the MMC aspects of BD media than cdrecord. It's just that Andy wanted to be smart with auto-formatting and regrettably quit maintaining of growisofs before he could iron out the consequential bugs. My 12.04.5 LTS occasionally grinds to a halt with login nearly impossible. Thanks for the follow up. I apologize, it indeed was not my intent to expire the bug but rather to bring attention to it. I'm not a maintainer or triager, just another user here, so I'll go ahead and reopen it as New; I may not be able to assist with this issue further. libosmesa6/trusty-updates 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.3 amd64 can't be installed because it depends on libglapi-mesa (= 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.3), but libglapi- mesa-lts-utopic/trusty-updates,trusty-security 10.3.2-0ubuntu1~trusty2 amd64 is 10.3.2-0ubuntu1 not 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.3. [Bug 1374782] Re: OpenVPN interactively asks for a password in an init script
This also affects me, and I don't see any easy workaround. Trusty used upstream 2.3.2, but turned off "enable-systemd"; Utopic turns it on, and that makes openvpn execute systemd-ask-password, but with stdin set to /dev/null, whcih makes it pretty hard to interact with. [Bug 1424215] Re: growisofs BD-R overflow error despite capacity check
It is not that simple. The same burn that failed with growisofs here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/utopic/+source/dvd+rw- tools/+bug/1113679/comments/13 finishes correctly with cdrecord. Both burns where done with K3B in the same system. K3b can use any of growisofs or cdrecord. I used 2 blank BD-R from the same spindle and burned exacly the same 3 files into them. I have burned ~ 50 BD-R using K3B with cdrecord and they all burn flawlessly at 4X (1 GB/s). K3B using growisofs (besides never burning correctly), burns at 2X (and reports it as 4X) while keeping the burner's hardware buffer below 50%. K3B with drecord keeps is at 97+% all the time while burning. Basically growisofs is useless for BD-R. CDrecord should be the default or at least an easy to use option. Right now (and since BD-R where invented) you need to add a PPA and use K3B to actually burn BD-R. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1424215 Title: growisofs BD-R overflow error despite capacity check To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dvd+rw-tools/+bug/1424215/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1429251] Re: [Acer Aspire V5-473P] Touchpad Doesn't recognize buttons as separate from touch surface
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1271281 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1271281 ** Description changed: - Original bug: - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1162313 - Note that this is advertised as a multi-touch pad. However, using two fingers stops the mouse movement. This report is not referring the absence of muli-touch. It is referring to a problem with regular touchpad usage caused by this problem. Problem: The touch pad includes a touch surface and buttons (beneath) all on one touch surface. The entire touch surface can be depressed to click the mouse. The buttons are an extension of the surface and can also be depressed to click the mouse. They are separated into right and left areas. The buttons are functioning for left and right clicks, however, the software is not differentiating between the buttons and the touch surface for pointer movement. Sliding your finger on the buttons results in the pointer moving on screen. Therefore, when resting your finger on the left or right mouse button (as when preparing to highlight text) you cannot use your other finger to move the pointer because the dual input causes the pointer to stop. What I expected to happen: The Touch pad should allow you to rest your finger (without depressing) on the right mouse button while still being able to move the mouse pointer. [Bug 1421746] Re: Enabling HWE Stack in precise broke my system
Bib, as per the readme for your nvidia card's driver http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/96.43.20/README/appendix-b.html the nvidia 96.x series driver supports xorg up to 1.10. As xorg-server- lts-trusty is using xorg 1.15, it is incompatible with the nvidia driver. Hence, if you want to continue using the nvidia 96.x series driver, you will have to use the original xorg and kernel stack as outlined in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack . Otherwise, you will need to use nouveau. Please feel free to report any future bugs you may find. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1421746 Title: Enabling HWE Stack in precise broke my system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1421746/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
