[Bug 1313279] Re: xHCI host not responding to stop endpoint command
I'm running ubuntu 18.04 and have the same problems with USB 3.0. The ONLY way to get it to work at all ever is to turn iommu off in the bios and use iommu=soft as kernel parameter (as is described as the "solution" on many forums) AND I need to have certain device plugged into USB and/or something else magical that I didn't pin point. Anyway, once USB 3 works, it keeps working until I turn off a device (Valve Index headset), or rather when I quit steam, I get the following dmesg: [ 7211.963003] xhci_hcd :04:00.0: xHCI host not responding to stop endpoint command. [Bug 1867760] Re: zorg crashes on every time on boot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => xorg-server (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Summary changed: - zorg crashes on every time on boot + Xorg crashes on every time on boot -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1867760 Title: Xorg crashes on every time on boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1867760/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1867668] Re: Visual artifacts in Gnome Shell after upgrading to 20.04
Thanks. I can see a couple of problems with the machine now, which could cause this bug: 1. You have the old 'intel' graphics driver enabled. That's no longer being maintained and should not be used, especially on newer hardware like yours. Please ensure your Xorg config files do not load the 'intel' driver and if in doubt just uninstall it: sudo apt remove xserver-xorg-video-intel You should be using the newer 'modesetting' driver which is also the default. 2. You have a number of extensions installed: b'org.gnome.shell' b'enabled-extensions' b"['donotdist...@kylecorry31.github.io', 'docker- integrat...@jan.trejbal.gmail.com', 'gsconn...@andyholmes.github.io', 'multi-monitors-add-on@spin83', 'custom-hot-corn...@janrunx.gmail.com', 'autohide-batt...@sitnik.ru', 'clipboard-indica...@tudmotu.com', 'openweather-extens...@jenslody.de', 'places-menu@gnome-shell- extensions.gcampax.github.com', 'sound-output-device- choo...@kgshank.net']" so if removing the intel graphics driver hasn't already fixed the bug then please try to uninstall all of those extensions. Yes uninstall and not just disable, because a disabled extension can still interfere with the shell. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1867668 Title: Visual artifacts in Gnome Shell after upgrading to 20.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1867668/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1840725] Re: Microphone not working in Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS on new hp-spectre-x360-convertible-15 laptop
Same issue on Dell G3-3590 i7 gtx1660, worked for 2 months and now simply stopped, started without audio that i solved with this: " I used to change /etc/default/grub to have this line GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="loglevel=3 quiet splash acpi_backlight=vendor acpi_osi='!Windows 2013' acpi_osi='!Windows 2012' snd_hda_intel.dmic_detect=0" Then run in terminal grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg " I get this solution from here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=251157 Now audio works fine, with and without headphone. But the problem now is that the internal microphone is not detected. And when the headphone (with dont have microphone) is connected he is detected in input devices list as if it was a microphone. and when I added this: options snd-hda-intel index=0 model=laptop-dmic on: /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf a internal mic appears in the input device list but still not detecting audio, and the headphone is not detected in the input list anymore, but audio still working... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1840725 Title: Microphone not working in Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS on new hp- spectre-x360-convertible-15 laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1840725/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1859754] Re: add ucm to make alsa/sof driver work under PA (variants of Lenovo X1 Carbon 7th, Dell cnl and cml machines)
@Devin and Michael, That is because the X1C7 has too many configs: like different cpu, different ramsize or different disk size, each config has a unique cardlongname. And For this SRU, we only covered the configs we need to certify in our OEM enablement project. LENOVO noticed this issue too, they told us the alsa-lib could find and load the ucm by the first 3 letters of BIOS_VERSION, so I am going to submit a new SRU with this solution soon. With that solution landed in the alsa-lib, all x1c7 could use one ucm. So could you please upload the output of cat /sys/devices/virtual/dmi/id/bios_version, let us see if the first 3 letters of bios_version are same or not among all x1c7 machines. @sil2100, Since the current SRU already covered all machines we enabled in the OEM project and they all worked well, please release it. Then I will cover the left machines in a new SRU. thx. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1859754 Title: add ucm to make alsa/sof driver work under PA (variants of Lenovo X1 Carbon 7th, Dell cnl and cml machines) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1859754/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1867806] Re: why when i create an icon on the desktop that if goes behind the launcher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1867806/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. The following upstream stable patches should be included in the Ubuntu kernel: upstream stable patchset 2020-03-17 Ported from the following upstream stable releases: v4.14.172, v4.19.106 from git://git.kernel.org/ iommu/qcom: Fix bogus detach logic ALSA: hda: Use scnprintf() for printing texts for sysfs/procfs ASoC: sun8i-codec: Fix setting DAI data format ecryptfs: fix a memory leak bug in parse_tag_1_packet() ecryptfs: fix a memory leak bug in ecryptfs_init_messaging() arm64: nofpsimd: Handle TIF_FOREIGN_FPSTATE flag cleanly ARM: 8723/2: always assume the "unified" syntax for assembly code serial: imx: ensure that RX irqs are off if RX is off serial: imx: Only handle irqs that are actually enabled KVM: nVMX: Use correct root level for nested EPT shadow page tables drm/gma500: Fixup fbdev stolen size usage evaluation cpu/hotplug, stop_machine: Fix stop_machine vs hotplug order brcmfmac: Fix use after free in brcmf_sdio_readframes() leds: pca963x: Fix open-drain initialization ext4: fix ext4_dax_read/write inode locking sequence for IOCB_NOWAIT ALSA: ctl: allow TLV read operation for callback type of element in locked case gianfar: Fix TX timestamping with a stacked DSA driver pinctrl: sh-pfc: sh7264: Fix CAN function GPIOs pxa168fb: Fix the function used to release some memory in an error handling path media: i2c: mt9v032: fix enum mbus codes and frame sizes powerpc/powernv/iov: Ensure the pdn for VFs always contains a valid PE number gpio: gpio-grgpio: fix possible sleep-in-atomic-context bugs in grgpio_irq_map/unmap() media: sti: bdisp: fix a possible sleep-in-atomic-context bug in bdisp_device_run() pinctrl: baytrail: Do not clear IRQ flags on direct-irq enabled pins efi/x86: Map the entire EFI vendor string before copying it MIPS: Loongson: Fix potential NULL dereference in loongson3_platform_init() sparc: Add .exit.data section. uio: fix a sleep-in-atomic-context bug in uio_dmem_genirq_irqcontrol() usb: gadget: udc: fix possible sleep-in-atomic-context bugs in gr_probe() usb: dwc2: Fix IN FIFO allocation clocksource/drivers/bcm2835_timer: Fix memory leak of timer kselftest: Minimise dependency of get_size on C library interfaces jbd2: clear JBD2_ABORT flag before journal_reset to update log tail info when load journal x86/sysfb: Fix check for bad VRAM size tracing: Fix tracing_stat return values in error handling paths tracing: Fix very unlikely race of registering two stat tracers ext4, jbd2: ensure panic when aborting with zero errno nbd: add a flush_workqueue in nbd_start_device KVM: s390: ENOTSUPP -> EOPNOTSUPP fixups kconfig: fix broken dependency in randconfig-generated .config clk: qcom: rcg2: Don't crash if our parent can't be found; return an error drm/amdgpu: remove 4 set but not used variable in amdgpu_atombios_get_connector_info_from_object_table regulator: rk808: Lower log level on optional GPIOs being not available net/wan/fsl_ucc_hdlc: reject muram offsets above 64K PCI/IOV: Fix memory leak in pci_iov_add_virtfn() NFC: port100: Convert cpu_to_le16(le16_to_cpu(E1) + E2) to use le16_add_cpu(). arm64: dts: qcom: msm8996: Disable USB2 PHY suspend by core ARM: dts: imx6: rdu2: Disable WP for USDHC2 and USDHC3 media: v4l2-device.h: Explicitly compare grp{id,mask} to zero in v4l2_device macros reiserfs: Fix spurious unlock in reiserfs_fill_super() error handling fore200e: Fix incorrect checks of NULL pointer dereference ALSA: usx2y: Adjust indentation in snd_usX2Y_hwdep_dsp_status b43legacy: Fix -Wcast-function-type ipw2x00: Fix -Wcast-function-type iwlegacy: Fix -Wcast-function-type rtlwifi: rtl_pci: Fix -Wcast-function-type orinoco: avoid assertion in case of NULL pointer ACPICA: Disassembler: create buffer fields in ACPI_PARSE_LOAD_PASS1 scsi: ufs: Complete pending requests in host reset and restore path scsi: aic7xxx: Adjust indentation in ahc_find_syncrate drm/mediatek: handle events when enabling/disabling crtc ARM: dts: r8a7779: Add device node for ARM global timer dmaengine: Store module owner in dma_device struct x86/vdso: Provide missing include file PM / devfreq: rk3399_dmc: Add COMPILE_TEST and HAVE_ARM_SMCCC dependency pinctrl: sh-pfc: sh7269: Fix CAN function GPIOs RDMA/rxe: Fix error type of mmap_offset clk: sunxi-ng: add mux and pll notifiers for A64 CPU clock ALSA: sh: Fix unused variable warnings ALSA: sh: Fix compile warning wrt const tools lib api fs: Fix gcc9 stringop-truncation compilation error drm: remove the newline for CRC source name. usbip: Fix unsafe unaligned pointer usage udf: Fix free space reporting for metadata and
