[Bug 1940288] Re: allow backward migration broken by audio dev
While this isn't strictly needed for Impish itself, it will be helpful once there are later versions available and a requirement for the SRU to former releases. Actually if an old qemu was manually configured with audio device then the forward migration would fail, fixed by this. So it is actually helpful for impish as of today already. ** Also affects: qemu (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: qemu (Ubuntu Hirsute) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: qemu (Ubuntu Impish) Importance: Undecided Status: Triaged ** Changed in: qemu (Ubuntu Impish) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: qemu (Ubuntu Hirsute) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: qemu (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: qemu (Ubuntu Hirsute) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: qemu (Ubuntu Focal) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1940288 Title: allow backward migration broken by audio dev To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1940288/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1940252] Re: Merge 4.1-3 for cleanups and glibc compatibility
Now that I made the test work this leaves me stuck in proposed thanks to systemd. But it is really odd - update-excuses lists them as failed: chrony (4.1-1ubuntu1 to 4.1-3ubuntu1) autopkgtest for systemd/248.3-1ubuntu4: arm64: Regression ♻ , armhf: Regression ♻ , ppc64el: Regression ♻ , s390x: Regression ♻ But if you look at the history of those architectures, there never was a test for chrony 4.1-3ubuntu1 ?!? [Bug 1940342] Re: Update-manager crashed
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Bug reporting is mostly about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future users from hitting the same bug. I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709 The file you mention is a 3rd party source and not a Ubuntu source, so I've marked this bug as incomplete. If you believe I'm in error, please leave a comment explaining why, and the status can be returned to "New" (and an apport-collect will be requestd). [Bug 1774632] Re: The symbolic link /etc/resolv.conf points to the wrong file by default
OS: Ubuntu 18.04 bionic Kernel: x86_64 Linux 4.19.17 For those who encounter situations otherwise, here is my case and workarounds. my case: --- /etc/resolv.conf -> ../run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf I remove the symlink and assign a new one /etc/resolv.conf -> /run/systemd/resolve/resolv.conf reboot, and the /etc/resolv.conf says there is NO DNS SERVER. DNS Lookup is completeny unusable at this point. If it points to the stub-resolv.conf variant, it seems that the systemd-resolved is not working properly, at 127.0.0.53. --- my solution: --- 1. remove the symlink, 2. replace it with a solid file, either empty or with a line `nameserver 8.8.8.8` 3. reboot and what you will see is a autogenerated resolv.conf made by NetworkManager, which changes dynaminally depending on what network you are connected to. using netstat -tunlp to grep the nameserver in the file, you may see ``` tcp0 0 127.0.1.1:530.0.0.0:* LISTEN 1604/dnsmasq udp0 0 127.0.1.1:530.0.0.0:* 1604/dnsmasq ``` which is also recommended in a lot of threads in askubuntu (i.e. google enable dns cache in ubuntu). --- -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1774632 Title: The symbolic link /etc/resolv.conf points to the wrong file by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1774632/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1940154] Re: Xorg freeze (nouveau/ttm use-after-free with full-screen video)
The nouveau driver has never been well supported. It remains buggy for years even for old hardware so the outlook is not great there. If you would like to debug the nouveau driver then it lives in the Linux kernel at: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/tree/drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau The other information I've been referring to comes from these pages: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-340 https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-5.11 https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3142/~/support-timeframes-for-unix-legacy-gpu-releases Nvidia has never supported their own chips for more than a few years and your Samsung machine appears to be 11 years old. You would have less trouble if the machine had AMD or Intel graphics. Otherwise if you use Nvidia you will either need newer hardware or to stay on an older OS like Ubuntu 20.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1940154 Title: Xorg freeze (nouveau/ttm use-after-free with full-screen video) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1940154/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1940316] Re: Seems like there's an issue while trying to install ubuntu
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your installation media (CD/DVD). You can verify the integrity of the Ubuntu ISO files you downloaded by following the instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM. You might also retry your installation with new media. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your installation media please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck!
