[Bug 982185] Re: GUI (Compiz+CairoDock) freeze when starting LibreOffice
This bug also affects me. It doesn't need to be started from the dock; starting it from Applications menu, terminal or Gnome-Do also makes the system freeze. It's not possible to interact with the dock or the desktop, only move the mouse or kill X server with Ctrl+Alt+Backspace. This bug does not occur with Gnome Shell or Unity. [Bug 841608] Re: installed compiz manager. now desktop is empty: no side bar
I had the same problem some minutes ago, although only the shutdown icon disappeared. I ran the command 'unity --reset' and brought it back; do I need to keep the terminal open? Also, even after installation, I can't find Compiz Manager anywhere. Neither System Settings, nor the Dash when typing 'ccsm'. What can I do? I'm testing from a Live USB. Don't know if it matters... [Bug 748311] Re: pidgin-msn/hotmail cannot login
Today I found a way to solve it. Just had to change proxy configurations from "GNOME" to "environment". [Bug 748311] Re: pidgin-msn/hotmail cannot login
I started having the same problem under Ubuntu 11.04 64 bits. I have Windows 7 on dual-boot and installed Pidgin on it too. Both MSN and Gtalk work perfectly there, but only Gtalk works on Ubuntu. This problem started yesterday (06-16-2011); Pidgin used to work with no trouble until then.
