[Bug 816987] [NEW] Xubuntu 11.04 installer crashed towards end of install
Public bug reported: I was installing Xubuntu 11.04 on my Intel Celeron M 1.5GHz laptop, and it crashed towards the end of the install process. When I left it before I went to bed, it was slowly downloading updates. Then, when I checked it in the morning, it said that the installer crashed and to file a bug report here. The status bar at the bottom of the install window said checking for packages to remove, so it crashed at or before this stage. I was doing an install only, and I didn't have time to go into live cd mode. I rebooted the with the live cd later (which I'm using now) to submit this bug report. I looked for the files /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman under the root partition of my hard drive, but they do not exist even when having show hidden files selected. The version of ubiquity is the default one that comes with the live cd. Thanks. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/816987 Title: Xubuntu 11.04 installer crashed towards end of install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/816987/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 493899] [NEW] package splashy (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/etc/lsb-base-logging.sh', which is also in package lsb-base 0:4.0-0ubuntu5
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: splashy I was trying to install splashy 0.3.13-5ubuntu1 after installing startupmanager so that I could have a cool splash screen instead of just a text message saying Grub loading However, after choosing splashy in Synaptic package manger and clicking apply (with the dependencies automatically selected), it gave me the above error. It's not essential to have a splash screen, but I have no idea why this error happened. I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala. [Bug 300917] Re: failed build using module-assistant
The build still failed using module-assistant, but the compile method works after all. [Bug 300917] Re: failed build using module-assistant
I'm having this same problem in Jaunty (9.04). I tried to follow the instructions on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WindowsXPUnderQemuHowTo, and I have the kqemu-source and kqemu-common installed. These instructions worked perfectly in Ubuntu 8.04, but after I upgraded to 9.04 (fresh install), I experienced this problem upon trying to re-setup kquemu. [Bug 300917] Re: failed build using module-assistant
BTW, trying the alternative method of installing from /usr/src/kqemu did not work either. Make clean was necessary because choosing make again didn't do anything (make:nothing to be done for 'all'.)
