Runing python in a terminal then "import gtkspell" doesn't led to an error message. Same think in 12.04, trying to update to 12.10 (running update-manager -c in terminal) or 14.04 (update-manager -c -d). I'm behind a proxy with authentication. My system is correctly configured to use proxy settings, and apt-get works normally both in graphical mode (synaptic, update manager) and in terminal.
