[Bug 1450790] Re: Phone not connecting to mobile data until rebooting
Hi Tony, No, I only have one SIM in there. That one is indeed PIN-locked. list-modems: http://paste.ubuntu.com/10966553/ list-contexts: http://paste.ubuntu.com/10966559/ Also you're right that I did enter the SIM PIN wrong every once in a while, as I often reboot during walking outside I made some typos in entering the pin. However, IIRC I always entered the correct PIN on the second attempt at latest. I don't recall using the APN editor, at least I didn't enter some APN setting somewhere. I did try to manually select the network operator hoping I could get a connection without having to reboot - without success. I'll do the proposed "reset" now and will report back the results tomorrow. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1450790 Title: Phone not connecting to mobile data until rebooting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1450790/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1450790] [NEW] Phone not connecting to mobile data until rebooting
Public bug reported: Whenever I walk out of WiFi range, my phone does not connect to mobile data. Toggling flight mode does not help. I have to reboot the phone. [Bug 1447332] [NEW] alarms sceduled within the current minute trigger immediately
Public bug reported: Use case: a countdown timer. As an app might be suspended by the time the countdown hits 0, currently the alarm api is the only way to create such apps. However, for that use case there would be a requirement for second-precision at least. Currently, when a countdown is set to some few seconds, staying within the current minute, the alarm will trigger immediately when it is synced to the datetime-indicator, instead of waiting for the time to trigger. If the alarm is longer, passing the next minute, it seems to actually trigger it on the right time. Here's an countdown app for testing that sets a countdown to 20 secs from now: lp:~mzanetti/+junk/stopwatch-countdown ** Affects: indicator-datetime (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Use case: a countdown timer. [Bug 1438072] [NEW] QCameraInfo::availableCameras() returns empty list on qtubuntu, works on xcb
Public bug reported: Based on [1] I've created a small sample app to verify the issue and indeed it seems to be broken. QCameraInfo::availableCameras() returns an empty list on the BQ phone. It works if the same application is run on X11. Attached you'll find the sample app to reproduce. [Bug 1436427] Re: Turning off WiFi doesn't set a route after the modem connects data
@Tony Today I left home twice, once it worked fine, the other time I ran into this again. This kinda matches my experience of running into this every other time I leave home. Maybe a bit less. I would estimate it to about 40% of the times I leave my home. Reproducing it manually by turning WiFi off doesn't trigger it as often as with walking out WiFi range. For me it definitely doesn't recover on its own, at least not with just waiting a few minutes. However, toggling flight mode on the phone usually makes the connection recover for me. IMO this is quite critical, and even if it would recover on its own after a while, there's nothing more annoying than being on the go and first having to toggle flight mode, or waiting 10 minutes before being able to use the map, or quickly googling something. Today for example we went for a walk, and after walking for some 20 minutes I wanted to look up the map. Pulled out the phone, the indicator says "H", I open the map and it doesn't load. Knowing that mobile data can be flaky at times, I waited for about 5 minutes for the map, keeping on tapping the screen in order to not get the map app suspended. Then I decided to toggle flight mode which then finally got me some map data. By then obviously we already walked in some wrong direction and were on our way back already. So this issue has the characteristic to always strike when you quickly need some mobile data. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1436427 Title: Turning off WiFi doesn't set a route after the modem connects data To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1436427/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1426400] Re: Time zone selection is really weird
Sebastien, yes, Ulm is indeed there, but hidden way down the list because there's a lot of other cities that have "ulm" in the name. I just missed it in the noise. Matthew: Living in central Europe, whenever I set up a timezone in a device, I usually do this: I search for "Europe" which then usually brings a list with: Europe (London/Lisbon) Europe (Amsterdam/Berlin/Rome) Europe (Helsinki/Bucharest) Not sure what's the correct way forward here, as Sebastien has valid arguments too. I still think the current huge list is not the ideal solution and I for one would probably still prefer one entry per time zone and continent. So that for example UTC can be found by: Europe (London/Lisbon) Africa (Casablanca/Ivory coast) This picture does it pretty much as I'd expect: http://i.imgur.com/rwi3XSJ.png It doesn't have all the cities in there, but it doesn't need to. Instead it would be much better to have a smaller set of entries and actually sorted by timezone (not by city name). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1426400 Title: Time zone selection is really weird To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ux/+bug/1426400/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1426400] [NEW] Time zone selection is really weird
Public bug reported: The time zone selection in the settings app is really weird: It asks me to enter my current location which already seems odd. => I try Blaustein, no results => I try Ulm, which is the closest next bigger city, no results => I try Berlin, as that seems to be a known city for time zone settings, suddenly I 12 results for Berlin, each them being a tiny part of the city where I've never heard the name of. Which one should I select? They're all the same in terms of time zone, aren't they? IMO, the settings app should have a list of predefined timezones like pretty much any other device has, means having entries like Europe Helsinki Europe Berlin/Amsterdam/Rome Europe London/Lisbon etc The textfield on top should then filter the entries... In any case, if we want to have the selection based on the user's real location, we need to have a database including *all* cities, perhaps even villages. If not, 1 entry per time zone should be enough. I for one would prefer the 1 entry per time zone, with their commonly known names. ** Affects: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1426400 Title: Time zone selection is really weird To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1426400/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1424202] [NEW] Bluetooth kept visible if page is not closed properly
Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce: * Open the settings app * enter the Bluetooth settings page * close the settings app (do not exit the Bluetooth page) => device can still be found by other hosts and hciconfig confirms that ISCAN is still enabled. [Bug 1408643] [NEW] Header divider is invisible on very dark backgrounds
Public bug reported: The color for the header divider is calculated by Qt.darker(backgroundColor). If backgroundColor is already very dark or black, this leads to an invisible header divider.
