Re: [Bug 1529458] Re: ubuntu 14.04: Epson Stylus Photo 2100 "missing print filter"
This is a little embarrassing, but I have now come to the conclusion that there is some error in my printer. I did try ubuntu 15.10, but then it occurred to me that I also should try older ubuntus, so I downloaded 12.04 and got the same result. I then got my sons macbook once more and the printer failed yet again. This has taken some time due to a tight time schedule in the new year. I am sorry for this. Btw: the printer still works under windows 7, but even then there is some glitches, I have to press the paper feed button from time to time etc. I don’t know what I should do with my bug report, retract or mark as solved? Thanks for the help. I have ordered a new printer (repairs are way to costly in Norway) Yours truly Bjørn Forbord On 03. jan. 2016 18:22, Pascal De Vuyst wrote: > In Ubuntu 15.10 please provide your > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems#CUPS_error_log and > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems#USB_printer_does_not_print_or_prints_garbage > -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529458 Title: ubuntu 14.04: Epson Stylus Photo 2100 "missing print filter" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gutenprint/+bug/1529458/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I now have tried gutenprint 5.2.11-pre1 from a live USB with ubuntu 15.10, 64Bit, sadly with the same result. Thanks for the suggestion. [Bug 1529458] [NEW] ubuntu 14.04: Epson Stylus Photo 2100 "missing print filter"
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 14.04 on a Dell precision T3400 64bit. lsb_release -rd: Description:Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS Release:14.04 apt-cache policy cups cups: Installert: 1.7.2-0ubuntu1.7 Kandidat: 1.7.2-0ubuntu1.7 Versjonstabell: *** 1.7.2-0ubuntu1.7 0 500 http://no.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/main amd64 Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-security/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1.7.2-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://no.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages Since I upgraded from 12.04 to 14.04 this printer has not worked well. Sometimes it prints after repeatedly pressing the paper feed button. I often get the error message: "missing print filter". I have had the printer for approx. 10 years, and it worked well before 14.04. I have tested on a windows 7 laptop and on a mac. Both work well. Conclusion: printer is working. Someting has happened to cups or the cups driver for this printer. I have tried the Open Printing user forum and only gotten a report from someone with the same problem I attach the error log (/var/log/cups/error_log) ** Affects: cups (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "error.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529458/+attachment/4540751/+files/error.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529458 Title: ubuntu 14.04: Epson Stylus Photo 2100 "missing print filter" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1529458/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 813022] Re: Pinguy 11.04 mini 64-bit install
This was quite a long time ago. I am writing this from the same ASUS running pinguy 11.10 beta. I have installed quite a lot of ubuntu and ubuntu derivates in the last few years, and quite often the install crashes/stalls at the end of the install process or on the subsequent reboot. I never have failed totally with an ubuntu install though. Sorry for this rather vague description. I will keep a whatchful eye on my next attempt and report back the next time it happens. I suiggest that this bug is deleted for the time being Best regards from Oslo -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/813022 Title: Pinguy 11.04 mini 64-bit install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/813022/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
