I understand that that might be an issue. The decision of running ginn on start-up was not accepted because we haven't tested it enough (whether it causes other problems). Japp, that is true. Forgot that I added it to try to solve the original problem in this bug. I just got an updated version of ginn package now from the PPA and after reboot it starts and works fine. You are right, it works after starting "ginn" from the command line.
