[Bug 1193176] [NEW] augeas-lenses package lacking support in dhclient.conf lens for append/prepend options
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS Release:12.04 Linux w01c105asoc 3.5.0-34-generic #55~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jun 7 16:25:50 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux augeas-lenses: Installed: 0.10.0-0ubuntu4 Candidate: 0.10.0-0ubuntu4 Version table: *** 0.10.0-0ubuntu4 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Have encountered a use case where lacking support for the "append" and "prepend" options in dhclient.conf lens is causing some pain. The lens for this file appears to reflect this lack of support today the same as it did in 2008 when it was initially merged into upstream by author: http://www.redhat.com/archives/augeas-devel/2008-August/msg00306.html # /usr/share/augeas/lenses/dist/dhclient.aug (* Intefraces module for Augeas Author: Free Ekanayaka Reference: man dhclient.conf The only difference with the reference syntax is that this lens assumes that statements end with a new line, while the reference syntax allows new statements to be started right after the trailing ";" of the previous statement. This should not be a problem in real-life configuration files as statements get usually splitted across several lines, rather than merged in a single one. TODO: support the "default", "supersede", "append" and "prepend" statements *) In the TODO it is noted that "append" option is not supported. I wanted to see if support for these statements can be implemented and possibly submitted upstream. I encounter several use cases exist where this functionality is necessary; on home networks where ISP provides leases where LAN settings need to be added for operation on the LAN, and on corporate networks where it is common for multiple additional settings such as search domains to be included where DHCP leases may be incomplete. ** Affects: augeas (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to augeas in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1193176 Title: augeas-lenses package lacking support in dhclient.conf lens for append/prepend options To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/augeas/+bug/1193176/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1189646] Re: unowned files after purge (policy 6.8, 10.8): /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/90cloud-init-pipelining
Charles, Thanks. I pushed that into the packaging branch for saucy. I looked today at separating grub-legacy-ec2 out of cloud-init and saw your repo at http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=collab-maint/pv-grub-menu.lst.git and the ITP at #6721024. I've done a bit of work here to get it to build and to fix some lintian errors. I wonder what your plans are for that (if any). Mainly, I'd like to get that code out of cloud-init's packaging tree and somewhere else, and it seems like you were possibly doing some of that also. I'm willing to do some of the grunt work, but will need the result to work as desired on ubuntu. Thoughts? It's scheduled for next month, but that was based on the assumption that security patches were still being supplied for all of the installed software. It is notably complicated by the property that configuration files from Puppet 0.25 (from Lucid) and 2.7 (from Precise) are neither forward- nor backward- compatible, and thus requires coordinating the upgrade across the puppetmaster server as well as all client machines simultaneously. > I'll also investigate if we can get the puppet version from > Precise into lucid-backports. [Bug 611142] Re: seabios should have native scsi support
I just did some bug cleanup work here. Per Michael's comment, this is now fixed in seabios. So I marked the seabios task as fix-released in Ubuntu. 12.04 will not have this fix present, as its seabios is 0.6.2, but versions of ubuntu 12.10 (quantal) and later should be fix-released. [Bug 1157274] Re: Nova list_images using image_type parameter does not return expected images
Hi Luke, Should this bug have been reported against nova project instead of python-novaclient? I don't see the type/image_type filter being implemented by novaclient. On a side note, testing against nova grizzly I was able to filter snapshots by requesting /images/detail?type=snapshot.
