Pat,

Never say cannot, just know it would require *.inf these updates would
need to be done to the "source files" and would need to be redone for
each slipstreamed service pack.

You can not prevent them from being installed, but you can "remove
access" to them via unattend.txt. See

Re: [Unattended] Windows-'Tools'

2004-12-16 Thread Matt_Fries
You COULD use a third-party application to uninstall outlook express and windows messenger But there is a solution that will cost you $0, because it's part of windows 2000 and XP. You could go to the control panel, and choose add/remove programs. Then select add/remove windows components. This will 'uninstall' those items.  There is even a way to automate this. That add/remove programs applet in the control panel really just calls a program called sysocmgr. You can do some web-searching and find parameters to feed it. There is also a sysoc.inf file in the C:\windows\systems\inf directory I think.  You basically create a text file that indicates the packages that you want to remove, and issue a command to sysocmgr pointing it to your txt file and the sysoc.inf file. I'm on vacation this week, or otherwise I'd send you a sample of the command line. Hope this helps.[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: -To: "Sebastian Mellmann" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>From: "Kerin Millar" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>Sent by: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Date: 12/14/2004 07:55AMcc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: Re: [Unattended] Windows-'Tools'>> Hi everybody.> Is there any possibilty of deleting programs like windows-messenger,> outlook> express etc.?Try this: http://www.litepc.com/Regards,--Kerin Francis Millar---SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product GuideRead honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.Discover which products truly live up to the hype.
