2021-01-05 Thread fukumoto.shi...@fujitsu.com
Hello Gianluca,

Thank you for the links.
I read the documents and understood SR-IOV is supported.

This is a question apart from NFV, I need RDMA (InfiniBand) and RDMA (Ethernet)
using Mellanox ConnextX-6 cards.
Do you (or does anyone) know if RDMA (InfiniBand) and RDMA (Ethernet) work on
oVirt environment?

I found following MLNX_OFED documentation and it seems that RDMA will work with
SR-IOV.
https://docs.mellanox.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=39264752

Does someone know NFV can work on oVirt?

For your reference, Red Hat OpenStack Platform seems to support NFV as follows

I think you can find useful information here for RHV 4.4, that should be
applicable to oVirt 4.4 too:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_virtualization/4.4/html/virtual_machine_management_guide/sect-migrating_virtual_machines_between_hosts#Live_migration_prerequisites

I don't know if it is supported to also use NFV with OVN external provider in

Hi,

The login for all 3 portals are separated, so you can reach each one of
them directly:
For Administration Portal: https://manager-*fqdn/ovirt-engine/webadmin*

*For VM Portal: https://manager-fqdn/ovirt-engine/web-ui
*
*For Monitoring Portal (Grafana): https://manager-fqdn/virt-engine-grafana
*

They all are referred from the oVirt landing page (https://manager-
*fqdn/ovirt-engine/* ) but you can skip
that and reach them directly.

Thanks,

Hello Tommy,
you can't cancel the task from the Web UI.

you can delete the job in the engine database

connect to the engine database

engine=#  select * from job;

to find the job_id it will be the one without an end_time

select DeleteJob('job_id');

The other way is to restart the oVirt engine.

I was cloning VMs from a template, but as I'm still on oVirt 4.3 - I
cannot use this approach with EL8 (only oVirt 4.4 can seal EL8

easily revert back any changes and start new stuff.

I think Ansible is the most popular and supported choice for managing oVirt.
Yet, I like the idea for Terraform.

With CentOS releases lagging behind RHEL for months it’s interesting to

E.g. our current integration tests do not really pass on CentOS 8.1 and we
can’t really do much about that other than wait for more up to date packages.
It would also bring us closer to make oVirt run smoothly on RHEL as that is
also much closer to Stream than it is to outdated CentOS.

So..would you like us to support CentOS Stream?
We don’t really have capacity to run 3 different platforms, would you still

There are some concerns about Stream being a bit less stable, do you share

We have 15+ developers bringing up vm's for a variety of different environments
(like 80) for different, custom configurations of client environments. Vagrant
is really just to stand up (suspend, destroy) the vms and then puppet runs on
them to apply custom configuration.

I noticed Terraform support. I suspect that it would be a ton of work for us to
switch to it.

Hi Gervais,

Have you checked examples for the ovirt_vm module?

https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/latest/collections/ovirt/ovirt/ovirt_vm_module.html

Or if you need something more "high level" there is also vm_infra role:

https://github.com/oVirt/ovirt-ansible-collection/tree/master/roles/vm_infra

Both are provided by oVirt Ansible Collection, which is a preferred and
supported solution for automated management of oVirt installations.

Please provide some more details. Which version? How did you set up?
Is it an upgrade, or a new setup?

If it's a hosted-engine setup, then indeed grafana is not set up by
default. Login to the engine machine and run there:

engine-setup --reconfigure-optional-components

This was done for this bug:

We recently had another discussion about refining the condition. Not
