Re: Google Maps+Blindsquare or Seeing Eye GPS?

2016-02-12 Thread Wayne Merritt
I have no problems in using BlindSquare with Google Maps, though
dealing with two different voices giving you information is
interesting at times. I prefer Google Maps over other map apps.
BlindSquare is a lot cheaper than Seeing Eye and according to a
coworker who also has it, BlindSquare puts out updates more frequently
than the other as well. I can't vouch for this since I only have used
BlindSquare.

Good luck,
Wayne

In my opinion, blindsquare is much superior for look around features when
comparing to seeing eye GPS. Google maps plus blindsquare simultaneously is a
great combo.

Yes, when you have a place or favorite pulled up, if you choose the
Plan a Route button, in that menu you can choose whether you want
Apple Maps or Google Maps, or another GPS app you have on your phone.

Google Maps+Blindsquare or Seeing Eye GPS?

2016-02-11 Thread englishrider91
Sendero Lookaround GPS hasn't been working for me lately, and I've heard good
things about Blindsquare. I use Google Maps, but sometimes find it difficult to
follow its walking directions. Knowing when I've gotten to a specific cross
street is kind of important, and since Sendero Lookaround isn't cutting it
anymore, I need something that'll do the job. I'm just not sure which solution
to go with here. I've tried SE GPS, and liked it, but maybe GM+BS would suit me
better. What do you all think?

Thanks,
Ari

Re: Google Maps+Blindsquare or Seeing Eye GPS?

2016-02-11 Thread Brice Smith
The Seeing Eye app gives detailed information about intersections,
includes turn-by-turn directions and can also optionally pull POIs
from Google Places instead of just four Square. Otherwise, Google (or
Apple) maps plus BlindSquare is a fantastic combination.

You won’t get detailed intersection information with BlindSquare. But
you get an arguably smoother UI; the ability to plan a route with the
navigation application of your choice (and thus live traffic
rerouting, which Seeing Eye's turn-by-turn navigation does not
support), less battery drain than the Seeing Eye App, the ability to
simulate your destination and explore the new area, plus plenty of
other features.

Re: Google Maps+Blindsquare or Seeing Eye GPS?

2016-02-11 Thread Terje Strømberg
and it depends of where you are living or wisiting. Apple Maps + Blind Square
sendt me contrary direction. About 500 meters. Both apps was absolutely sure i
was at destination. It may be best to test both Seeing Eye and Blind Square. I
am havning issues with the personal POI’s at some places in Blind Square
lately. Its strange. I suspect something, but kno nothing.
Take care
