One reason I record my phone calls is that I often call bus companies to get
bus route information.

RE: Recording Phone Internal

2013-07-27 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
There are many reason's why one would want to record a call. Primarily it
would be to summarize a call afterwards and write down notes. For example,
you might have a long call with a travel agent to discuss the details of a
trip you are booking. Maybe you are on a tech support call or are doing
training over the phone. Maybe you participate in a conference call for work
and are expected to refer back to things that were discussed. You might also
own a business and want to record calls with your customers for their and
your protection, i.e. a customer might say "But you told me that this was
included" or "but you told me the price was only this much when I called".
If you have a recording of the call you could check back. These are just
some examples or situations I can think of right now. Most VoIP programs,
apps and services allow you to very easily record a phone call, but they
mostly play an announcement when you start recording and then a beep is
heard every so often. It is in fact illegal in many States and countries to
record calls or at least to record calls without letting the other party
know. I think most people won't have a problem with it if you tell them
especially if you are not discussing legal issues over the phone. If I have
a training session about some software or piece of hardware I bought, I
doubt the person on the other end would mind if I told him that I would like
to record the call so I can later refer back to what was said. Just as in a
lecture, this is often easier than trying to take notes because if I record
I can fully concentrate on what is being said.

Re: Recording Phone Internal

2013-07-27 Thread RobH!
Ok, a few messages ago, someone gave us all a clue how to record a phone
call; I suggest that method would be generic, so would work in this case
too, if it is going to work at all.
