How much do you want to bet that my face ID won’t work if the phone stays in my pocket. LOL. Once the iPHONE is unlocked, you can then return it to your pocket and use it hands-free. You'd want to turn off the auto-lock feature so id didn't lock on you after too much inactivity. Also, don't forget that it's possible to make and receive calls and do other things with Siri even if the iPHONE is locked presuming your security settings allow for this. Voice Control might extend the possibilities quite a bit. A couple of things to consider here. You could reach into your pocket and unlock the iPHONE with the passcode. I just did that with the iPHONE in my pocket while wearing earpods. I use touch typing and was able to enter my passcode easily. The iPHONE was upside down in my pocket and I simply dragged my finger to the right digit and then lifted my finger to enter it. I did this for each number in my passcode and the iPHONE then unlocked. There's no way to unlock it with your voice so you can't have it completely hands-free.
