Who would welcome Vietnam as test of new military technology? Well, I
think those devoted to developing military technology would welcome an
opportunity to test their ideas, but I could be wrong.

The cold war justified the 1958 National Defense Education Act, and
national IQ testing to help teachers select those best suited for higher
education, for military purpose. I think I still have a copy of the 1958
Act, my source of information. We adopted the German model of education
for technology for military and industrial purpose and left moral
training to the church. We began educating for a technological society
with unknown values, just before the 1960's and all the social unrest
during this time.

There are only two ways to have social order, culture of authority above
the people. When we stopped transmitting our culture that left only
authority. So we got bad parents and a national youth crisis, and the
most powerful military force the world has ever known. The 1942 book
"victory Through Air Power" explained how we could be the New World Order
Bush said we are, and coincidentally, when entered WWII against the
German New World Order, we said the Germans were immoral. They had
centralized public education for technology for military and industrial
purpose from the beginning of the industrial.

Adopting German teaching philosophy that "all babies are born with blank
brains and anything can be written on them, providing the right technic
is used", assumes the state has the right to write on children's minds.
The technic is called "Behaviorism" and is also used for training dogs.
It is great for the rapid advancement of technology, but I don't think we
want to give the vote to dogs, regardless of how wll trained they are.

Okay, you all got me. I don't like the horrors of war, so I do not read
war books nor watch war movies. My opinion was based on conquest and
conquer based history from high school, and how we speak of those men we
call Great, such as Alexander the Great. I think we consider Rome to be
great and glorious, and Rome's greatness was based on war and built by
slaves. When we look at peaceful people such as the Hopi, we look down
on these people, as being backwards and undeveloped, and then say it is
human nature to war. What if it is culture and not human nature that
brings people to war? What if my impression is a shared cultural
impression with media that makes big bucks using violence for
entertainment?

I like empire building games, but not the requirement for war that goes
with these games. Sim City doesn't force a person into a war. And I
make an issue of this, because we have not resolved our human problems
such as economic justice and safe neighborhoods for all children, and how
to fund education- but we sure are ready for war. Given the empire
building games, and other video games based on violence for
entertainment, I wonder about our intelligence. Why do my grandsons
prefer violent games to learning math, and using science to improve the
human condition? CS
