https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24132 Summary: dumpBackup.php should warn if $wgDBAdmin* not set (patch expands documentation) Product: MediaWiki Version: 1.15.4 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Normal Component: Maintenance scripts AssignedTo: innocentkil...@gmail.com ReportedBy: deb...@jwiltshire.org.uk Hi, The attached patch (for 1.15.4, but should fit 1.16 fairly easily) expands the documentation for maintenance/dumpBackup.php. Notably, it also hints to the administrator that --conf can be used to specify the patch to LocalSettings.php if it's somewhere unexpected, instead of just crying and running away. However, dumpBackup.php script still fails magnificently if $wgDBadmin.. are not set. It should warn and fall back on $wgDB.., since that'll probably be sufficient in most hosting environments. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

The newer Word still need to open pre-2007 files which don't have the trailer so no backwards compatibility issues there. The provided trialer contains a "font Theme". That won't be a fundamental feature in most cases but some users might need it. If I understand correctly, the OPC trailer stores information that can not be saved in the 2003 format. So it is a method of creating a 2003 compatible file that still has all the 2007 and later features of the original file when opened in 2007 or later. Perhaps the name-parameter shouldn't be explained at all in this quick help. * Discussion: It could be confusing that the signature button inserts --, while the help says , so it is suggested to include the two dashes in the help as well. The mediawiki standard doesn't include a link to the user's discussion page iirc, so the help shouldn't either.
