Also - someone is needed for BBC News tonight between five and six. I
can't, but I've forwarded the email to WMUK and the WMF comcom.
Basically someone who can be at a BBC TV studio anywhere in the
 country around then!

I may have this covered - was just phoned by the guy at the BBC and am
making arrangements.

Has Seddon said he's standing? Last I heard he was just thinking about
it. If we only have 3 candidates, as is worryingly possible at the
moment, then there won't be an election. The AGM will just have to
pass a resolution appointing the 3 candidates and that's it. (Or, it
could not appoint us and leave the chapter in a real mess, but I would
 advise against it!)

I would like to apologise for my sudden spate of inactivity in WMUK /

It is high on my list of tasks to get to the AGM and to get reinvolved as
soon as possible - but I didn't want you to think I had just popped out of
existance! I am as interested in WMUK and its' acitivities as I will ever be

This isn't just a bunch of people from the internet getting together
for a pint and a chat about what we're going to do, it's an official
meeting of the membership if a charitable company.

My earlier comment was purely in jest - this is of course a serious event
for the company and we should follow all necessary procedures. This isn't a
two-bit job or a meetup of Wikimedians, this is a legal event and should be
treated as such.

Oxford seems to be a very good choice for this. It allows the team working
