Re: [WiX-users] Creating MSI Application with ALLUSERS property

2008-01-17 Thread Quattro IV
This is how I did it in my project, not sure if it's the only or best way
but it works.

[WiX-users] SQLExtension -- RESEND

2008-01-17 Thread Quattro IV
Hi again, I still haven't gotten an answer to this, anyone?

Hello, I believe there is a bug (from my perspective it's a bug anyway) in
the way that the SQLExtension deploys SQL scripts (specifically stored
procedures). The install functions correctly and even installs all of my
scripts, stored procedures, etc. However, the comments which are included in
the stored procedures get stripped out sometime during the installation. Is
there a way to preserve comments?

[WiX-users] SQL Custom Action

2008-01-10 Thread Quattro IV
Hello,
It seems like WiX doesn't include the comments portion of an sql script
such as a stored procedure when it installs. Is there a way to include all
the original script data?

Re: [WiX-users] SQLExtension

2007-12-22 Thread Quattro IV
The page doesn't specify a bug number. See the end of this page
http://www.wixwiki.com/index.php?title=SqlExtension in the section titled
"Important Information" at the end. I already found that this has been fixed
in the latest builds through testing. Thanks for responding.

Hello, the wix wiki regarding the SQLExtension mentions "There is a serious
bug with how the *SqlExtension* handles the SqlDatabase
Elementwhen
creating a database. If a database with the same name
*already exists* it will always be *dropped*. At this time it is *not
recommended* to use the *SqlExtension* to create databases." Has this been
fixed in the latest builds? Thanks.

[WiX-users] Votive and Project References -- RESEND

2007-08-09 Thread Quattro IV
I didn't get a response so I'm resending this:

Hello, I'm having an issue referencing a WiX library from a standard WiX
module. For some reason I get "Unresolved reference to symbol..." errors
when I just reference the WiX library project directly instead of the
referencing the output of the project (.wixlib file) Anyone get this to
work?

Also, when I reference the output file directly it creates a hardcoded path
and I have to manually update the .wixproj directly to fix it, is this a
bug?

Any help is appreciated.

[WiX-users] Project Output

2007-08-01 Thread Quattro IV
Hi, I need help! How can I assign the output of a project in a solution to
the source of a file? In v2.0 you could use a preprocessor directive in the
form $(var..TargetPath)
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

[WiX-users] Ill-formed preprocessor variable

Hello, I'm getting an error when compiling my wix under VS. The following is
the error information, I believe it's complaining about the large number of
periods we use in project names. Can someone let me know if that is a bug?

Error 1 Ill-formed preprocessor variable '(
var.DNA.RadWorkflow.TabletWorklist.TargetDosFileName'. Variables must have
a prefix (like 'var.', 'env.', or 'sys.') and a name at least 1 character
long.
C:\RWFSystem\DNA.RadWorkflow\DNA.RadWorkflow.TabletWorklist\Application.TabletWorklist\Installer\TabletWorklist.wxs

Here is my File xml: The project name is DNA.RadWorkflow.TabletWorklist
