The Knowlton book (p. 188)
Carvalho, Antonio Marques, age 23, Braunfels 1895 Del s2
with Thereza de Jesus, 23, wife
Child: Manuel 11 months
It's the only Antonio with a Theresa. I don't know what Del s2 means.
1895 from the port of Ponta Delgada exists! Look them up!

Listowner,
Again, I am seeking help with a family that immigrated to Hawaii and then the
sons came to Fall River MA. Although Manuel the son shows as being born in
Azores, he also says he is born in Hawaii.
ANTONIO M CARVALHO was born about 1870. He married THERESA M S FITA. She was
born
about 1870.
My guess was Antunes also.

I have seen these names as both a first and last name, and are sometimes
spelled both ways for the same person in different records. Are Agada and
Agueda different spellings of the American version of Agatha or is Agueda
a different name entirely?

Walter,
What I could decipher is after the name Madelenna, it says the name "Anjos" in
very light ink, and then it says, " e pela paterna". Here is where the priest
is starting to cite the paternal grandparents. It's not a surname.

Hi Walter,
It looks like Antos, the abbreviation that is; the tos is small and higher up
than the An. I have no idea what it is but Antunes comes to mind.
