I have been over run with Pine Siskins, at my feeders since 12/26/2018. I have
not had these numbers for years. It is interesting since I am 2, blocks north
of Denver County. The birds also feed on the seeds of my native Rabbitbrush

While unsuccessfully trying to refind the Broomfield County clay-colored
sparrow at Columbine Meadows Park this afternoon, I had to settle for a
pair of brown thrashers instead. Pictures were added within my ebird
checklist.

This afternoon, while waiting for an appearance by Cherry Creek's ongoing
Rusty Blackbird (unsuccessfully, unfortunately), Dan and I had a brief
sighting of a Brown Thrasher. The bird perched up for a short time before
diving back into the widely available cover in the area around the small

Missed fox sparrow at red rocks, but caught up with some friends who were also
looking. A canyon wren put on a show though.
I about immediately found the golden-crowned sparrow in Morrison. Missed winter

I began at Aurora Res at dawn, finding an icy world. Judging by the
trackless snow, I was the first one on the dam this year. The reservoir was
nearly all frozen, with only scattered small areas of open water. Still,
there were were many *Cackling Geese* (maybe 30,000), and representative

In juvenile swans, black legs = tundra, yellow/green legs = trumpeter. I see
black, so yes for Tundra.

The Black-legged Kittiwake continues this afternoon as of 4pm on the west side
of the Reservoir opposite the Spring Canyon Dam.

Hello all,
I have one or two spaces available for the trip to Irian Jaya or western
New Guinea for the June 2019. The beginning date is June 6. The trip will
be for 23 days for $8,300. We will have experienced local guides. This does
not include airfare to New Guinea. We are a definite go.
