Hi all,
While walking along the Lee Gulch trail this afternoon I chanced upon a
calling male HOODED WARBLER. See the attached ebird checklist for more
details. Initially spotted roughly 50 feet from Mineral Ave.

Deckers she said the white patches were obvious and will try to get a pic red

This is mostly an update on the condition of the LCC Woods. I have been down
there 4 times since the 14th. The trail was pretty overgrown in spots and it
looks rather intimidating in terms of chigger potential. On the 14th I said the
heck with the consequences and surprisingly suffered no chigg
At 2:00 this afternoon, there were 9 Terns in the northwest corner of
Timnath Reservoir. At least 2 of them were Common Terns.

A very quiet morning today: no visitors, no volunteers, and few birds
around the banding station. While the weather was calm the first few hours,
it was easily the slowest day of the season so far, with just 6

Unfortunately I was a bit premature to say that yesterday was a record low,
because today we caught a grand total of two birds! Without further ado:
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Wilson's Warbler 1
Hopefully this improves next week!
Stop by on Saturday the 28th for our public banding day!

Prothonotary warbler is still here as of 7am. Currently watching it from the
dock on the point in the SW corner. Currently picking around for bugs in a
bush about 6ft above the water

Still present this am as of 7:45. Being observed at 39.7046245, -105.0889180,
on the south side of the island (looks like another peninsula but separated by
a narrow canal) just north of the SW peninsula.
