I think
the seasiest way is to use wicd, it is much further in development than
networkmanager. It doesnt'make any problems with Freerunner.

This problem seems caused by clouldTag extension, now we disabled this
function.
And while I edit wiki, it's OK now . So it fixed.

gprs does the fr by itself, umts requires i 3g sim and those are know to
be ... uhm ... problematic with the fr, though i don't remember if the
recent firmware upgrade for the modem does fix it.

I use "flashlight" - turns the screen backlight up to max. Touch to
turn off (& return screen to previous setting). Its actually quite
bright and useful, and no soldering involved.
