I think it is a problem of the input file - this might be linked to the
Ghostscript version used - see:
philip@debian:~$ epstool --test-eps input.eps
"gs" -dNOEPS -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -dNODISPLAY "/tmp/gsview8BugKU"

epstool calculates a very wide bounding box for the attached eps
file. The result is so wide that TeX cannot include it, which breaks
the sketch build. It would be great if epstool could be fixed so
