i have a big problem with x. it often crashes when switching to a konsole
(CTRL+ALT+F1) and back to X.
I use SID with the most recent packages on a PIII with an NVIDIA TNT2 chip
and the NVIDIA driver.
may you help?

does your kernel have support for ps/2 mice?
what about reconfiguring X11, deleting mice's sections and replace it with:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Configured Mouse"
Driver "mouse"
Option "CorePointer"
Option "Device"
ps/2 mouse ore usb? if usb you need some extra kernel features. does
/dev/input/mice exist? if not, you need to create it with mknod. does gpm run?

i've just installed some truetype fonts in X.
if i run X as root everything works fine, but if i use my normal user
account, i have just 3 (standart-)fonts available. any idea?
seems to be a problem with the current packages. a friend and me have the
same problem (with unstable/SID)

I've just installed SID and compiled Kernel 2.4.12 - but - I havn't any
/dev/input/mice device. I activated USB Support-> UHCI and Input core
support->Mouse Support.
My USB Mouse (Logitech MouseMan USB) is correctly connected. Any ideas?

I´ve installed the kernel driver for my soundcard (emu10k1, SoundBlaster
Live!). When i try to play a midi file there is following error message:
Cannot open /dev/sequencer
What do I have to do to play midi files?

I´ve just installed xfstt, put some TrueType Fonts in
/usr/share/fonts/truetype and updated the xfstt fonts list.
But i can´t use the fonts. First I tried them to use with konqueror, then
with the GIMP, but in no program they are available. xfstt-daemon is running.
any hints?

problem. Most of them have capital letter filenames (TRUETYPEFONT.TTF)
but i need them as 'truetype.ttf'
Do you know a tool for this?
